Re: Calum Butcher

Ach well.  He's no great loss.  Didn't cover himself in glory at centre back.  When he moved into midfield he had a couple of decent games but for me he still looked like a defender playing in midfield.  Good luck to him at the mighty Burton Albion.

Re: Calum Butcher

Not wanting to see too many players like Butcher leave, as he was definitely not bad for us and showed a bit of grit when others haven't been, which is going to be the main loss for us at the moment. Ultimately though he is easily replaceable.

Re: Calum Butcher

Would have liked to have seen him for another season and given a run of games as he was used as a bit part player even if he was the best player the game prior. Good luck butch you always put in a shift for us.

Re: Calum Butcher

He was better than Rankin and Paton at the holding midfield role and would have liked to see him stay instead of either of them.

It wasn't meant to be.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Well said Hammy, don't want to lose any bad losers when the team's got so many good ones.

Good point's.

Said before he has a nasty streak that not too many in our squad possess.

I think he could have became i right handy player in time.

But i don't blame him for moving on.

Re: Calum Butcher

According to media..

He wanted 2 year deal utd only offered 1 year.

Jackie says midfield is an area we are well covered but is in the market for another midfielder in other stories.

Re: Calum Butcher

We need 1 or two more creative midfielders, defo need a winger and a playmaker

Re: Calum Butcher

I voted Butcher player of the season: just shows how we can hold different views.

Or shows I know f-all about football.

Re: Calum Butcher

I mind his debut vs Partick. Absolutely rocketing into tackles. Thats his game. He offers little else.
Id rather see Fraser/Smith or suchlike get a shot...

Re: Calum Butcher

He came onto his game when the team was struggling and played good football . I think this is a massive loss as him and soapy in the middle could have been 10/10

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Re: Calum Butcher

He's now been removed from the First Team page on the fishul Website without explanation of any kind. So has Midge, but Graham and Keef Watson are still there. So is Darren Petrie who's moved to Raith Rovers. Nothing if not inconsistent.
