Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Who would take him? Possibly a good replacement for Butcher.

I would take him tbh. Definitely wouldn't cost much at all. I know that for a fact.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Better than Paton. Possibly better than Rankin. If they 2 were going then I'd give him a go. Think he'd help Souttar as well.

Never hid when he was having a stinker. Was very good in his 1st 6 months and last 6 months at club.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

No way.

Released by a first division outfit.Says it all really.

Left Utd for more money and his career has subsequently bombed.

We could do much better.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Nice to agrre with you TEK for a change. Robertson is not better than we have currently, he is also the wrong side of 30. Any signings we make have to be gauranteed starters.

But can we mate? Honestly, can we?

We're in such a position at the minute that I don't think we can be too fussy. I appreciate that he's just been released from a Championship club but in my opinion, he's a much much better player than Paton and an ageing Rankin.

He'd bring experience and a goal threat.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Wouldn't be surprised if St Johnstone sign him. He still lives in Dundee doesn't he?

Read that on Twitter. Also seen Partick mentioned.

Yeah mate we can (or should be able too anyway).

He was average first time round.

3 years on and over 30 now.

No thank you.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Surely he'll finally be going home to dens.
Because they can.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Anytime I watched Hibs this season, he played well.

He has the kind of experience we are crying out for.

He would be an upgrade on Paton and Rankin on 2 counts: ( 1 ) the ability to go box to box; and ( 2 ) the ability to score goals

So if he's affordable and ambitious and prepared to fight for a place, why the hell not?  Being with The HIVees last season AND being newly 30 Years of age are NOT negatives in my opinion.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

I would take him. He's a naturally fit lad so his age shouldn't be an issue.

Too much commotion

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Whether he is better than paton and rankin is debatable what is not is that the squad does not need all 3 off them. At the risk of repeating myself we should be looking for1or 2 players that would excite the fans and dare i say it have potential sell on value

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Think people are over-rating his abilities tbh.

Any worse than Paton+Rankin?Possibly not (but he's no better either).

We should be aiming for better.Get the feeling the current apathy from above is now infiltrating through to the support and people are almost accepting of mediocrity.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

If we are in the market for one midfielder, I'd prefer if if was a left sided player who can form a partnership and understanding with Dicker similar to what Conway did.

If we opt for a central midfielder I would want to go for someone significantly better than Rankin & Paton an who should be a shoe in for a starting place with those two fighting it out with Souttar for the other CM slot. Preferably it would be Souttar starting with a new midfielder.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Hibs will be trying desperately to emulate Hearts by winning the Championship title, knowing too that Sevco will be their main competitor. Why have they released Robertson? Probably feel they need better?

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

I don't think he would be a bad signing personally, A keeper, Centre back and even a Striker especially if Ciftci goes would be a priorty first though, certainly the first two.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Nope he's past his best if we did go for him it would be a squad player only (back up) .

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

BBC says he has rejected a new contract, not the other way round

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Great player for us. Not many players I would like to see to return to Tannadice, Robertson isn't one of them. Don't feel he will have improved any since leaving us, most likely the opposite.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Was outstanding till he got injured. Then the usual United story = 6 weeks turns to 6 months. Never regained the form he once had plus we had Jimmy and the Prince. Used to hate the 3 oh them playing together

All the best to him, hope he gets a decent move

I love watching United on arabzone...

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

Re: Scott Robertson: Let go by Hibs.

It's funny how the memory can work. I think I generally remember the good performances from a player and erase the average and awful.

I liked Scott Robertson when he was with us, tidy, hard working and athletic. However, if I really scratch at the surface, I'm fairly certain that the majority of his performances were very very average.

I'm hoping for more than average. By resigning him, it would surely mean that current young players like Scott Fraser and Smith are equally as average.
