Re: jets deal close

No wanting to start a melt down on here but does anyone think he can honestly continue to be 100% focused and committed to Dundee United FC ?

Re: jets deal close

I don't think  ST is interested in United anymore.  It appears that his sister is going to be taking over from ST and maybe changing the direction the club had been going in.

I don't know how close she has been to the club, if she went to the games regularly or not, etc.  But if she thinks she's going to be able to run this business like her Spa, then she doesn't get football and how the game should be and needs to be run.

ST and the other director will remain on the board at United, probably so they can assist in the running of the club and take a wage, but my understanding is that ST can't be chairman of a Scottish club and be the owner of any other professional football team.  (I could be completely wrong here).

There's going to be change happening soon if ST does buy this Aussie club and I can't see it being for the better based on the lack of presence of the board since the end of January.

I'm worried.

LIkewise.  There are so many stories out there as to what is happening/going to happen.

If the board came out and advised on what direction teh club is taking and who is going to be leading the club then that would put a stop to all the rumours, would take the fans uncertainty away and would allow the opportunity for us all to pull in the same direction.

I want my club back.

Re: jets deal close

Ach well, he goes we should save 150 grand on his wages .........or will we

Re: jets deal close

Presumably, whoever is chairperson would get his wage and if he goes back to being an ordinary director (not a full time position) he would take the package for that. I can't see the cost of the board going up - can you?

The longer this goes on though, the more i think we need to NUJ deal to be concluded before we hear of anything happening at our club... Fingers crossed they can get things concluded soon - having fingers in too many pies doesn't appear to be doing our club any good at the moment.

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: jets deal close

But then this was his intention to head over there as part of a consortium for the jets whilst still being chairman of dundee utd with david southern in charge of the day to day things with his sister watching over him perhaps

Thompson at the other side of the world a fonecall or email away picking up his 150k making an appearance at tannadice x amount of times a season to tey justify his pay packet and picking a wage up from the jets also.

no being funny or anything and separating it from any pro / anti sentiment...I'm no sure its really "good banter" TBH...sounds pretty fucking irresponsible to me...missing persons are no exactly a laughing matter are they?

Re: jets deal close

In my honest opinion Jackie and the boys have only held onto the cash cow that is DUFC because our chairman has spent most of 2015 down under. If ST was not forever on the other side of the world i think he would have sacked them if he had watched every game from February till May.

not having a go at you mate...but just saying maybe the boy should have just even spent 10 seconds thinking about it and how desparate the people who use those types of sites are to find people, kids, wifes, husbands etc.. who they are not sure whether they are even alive or dead...its not really a sense of humour issue is it...its just spending a few seconds thinking about what you are doing and basic decency...
anyway, moving on, will be interesting how things pan out here...one thing is for sure the uncertainty and silence from the club on virtually everything is not doing anybody any favours
