Fair enough.

I back him because up to now he's done far more right than wrong in my opinion. Like all human beings he is prone to making some mistakes for which i forgive him. His family have done some very good things for United and i hope they are not put off continuing to do so.

Ditto, and be careful what you wish for !

The only Utd fans I know in real life or online who I know are ok with the transfer cut are Trap 6,Bugsy and Beharder (I think).
Some others possibly tolerate it but aren't thrilled by it.
The vast majority of fans I've had communication with over it are most unhappy though.
@Bugsy no you don't double his wages. We offer the 6th highest basic wage in Scottish Football with handsome bonuses for European qualification and Cup Final wins etc.
If that's not acceptable... don't take the job.
That's like Housty's package, JMac's basic is less than that.
I'm sure we could agree that any contract should be performance related and, as I've said before, the problem is the present contract is based on business performance, rather than on the pitch. We are where we are, but it's down to ST, not JMac.

Cheers, thought I was one of only 3 arabs.
But are the majority against ST or JMac?
Offline
Most Arabs I speak to offline who rarely post on forums if at all don't have an issue with ST or the transfer % cut caper.
The general feeling is we still don't know enough, more details need to be known and that you should'nt go from appreciated to hated and not trusted so fast without all the facts. That's what I hear fae staunch Arabs offline.
I'm more concerned over whether ST resurrected the previously so called written off family debt when the big bucks started to come in for our players. My concerns may be unfounded. I need more facts and these will come out in the accounts I hope.
I see why some fans don't think ST should do a Q & A wi the Fed & Trust as it might add to the split that exists but I think that the split is exaggerated by believing that the online opinion is the general opinion.
I hope there is a Q & A soon.

Why wouldnt the meeting go ahead when there is still alot of questions needing answered?
Personally I think he should be building bridges, for his sake, Utd's sake and the fans' sake...but on the other hand do i blame him for not wanting to talk to two organisations who asked for a confidentiality clause then did a press release a few days later with all the confidential information he gave them?...mmmhhh?? tough one...

The problems came from giving out some of the facts and leaving the rest to the imagination.
He should not divulge contractual info that's legally private but should announce his intentions where future business proposals won't be compromised by going public.
No smoke screens. Tell the truth without breaking confidential info and be straight with it, that's all we really want.

Agreed, but feel trust was shattered by what happened and may have seriously affected any club - fan interaction , which let's face it was way better than most fans in most clubs had, but is probably a thing of the past now following the press release

In the interests of neutrality (because i don't want anyone accusing me of having an agenda on here just for my opinion) i put it to my Twitter followers to retweet if they had a problem with Jmac getting a cut of transfer fees and to favourite if they were ok with it.
I have to say the RT's won...but it was close tbh.

The only pole that will really matter is one that's poled after all the facts are known.
Will that ever happen though?

Not sure about this tbh, but free speech for all and hang the rest

I'm disappointed with that Tek, but if anarchy is what some fans need to get excited about United then I'm oot before i fall oot with the members of the World Famous fair play fans of the universe

Nae idea if that's even a wind-up.
But if it's not,i really don't think you read or understood my post at all.
My reason for taking it to Twitter was for CLARITY not anarchy ffs.If i had an agenda i wouldn't have even mentioned it now would i?(Given the RT's won).
Second post of the day that has had an unfairly accusatory tone towards myself.
One for a lighthearted joke, the other for conducting a (fair) poll of supporters opinions.

The only person who broke any confidentially was the chairman who told us the managers contract.
In doing so I'd say the manager has the chairman by the baws so to speak.

I'm not particularly happy with deal but am more concerned by his tactics tbh. I can live with it but his tactics? Nah
I would be asking if anyone on the board monitors what happens on the training ground?
Are they happy with the players standard of fitness?
Are they happy with the way the management and coaches organise the defence?
Who sanctioned the signing of Anier? Was he scouted in Germany or just signed on reputation?

What about the United fans who don't use social media? It tends to be the ones who use social media and the forums that make the most noise.
We do have a divided support though which isn't good. Another meeting and fall out will just lead to more splits IMO.
If we don't make a decent start to next season Tannadice will not be a nice place to be.
We've got to move on

They are all fair questions but could you imagine asking McLean those questions when he was chairman of the club?

agree with both hunteds posts above...seek fed up reading stuff about demanding answers to questions that hardly any cunt bathered about years ago...i just want to watch a game of football and hopefully win....we're a club with 6000 fans, playing in the least attractive league in europe just about.....what are people really expecting in todays football climate?

True. Although McLean was seemingly unhappy with the standards of fitness/training when Golac was manager.
Anyway. I agree this thread is just reopening old wounds. Time to move on.

Maybe we should poll the season ticket holders/database if we think there is a major issue at the Club, just a suggestion likes. Doubt the Club would do this though or allow anyone else access to their database
Tek we have a difference of opinion on what you see as an major issue and i don't. That's all bud, tend to agree with most you say, can't agree on this subject though.
My tone of text yesterday left a lot to be desired though and looking back at it i apologize for any offence taken too it.

It's a different climate now though mate. No one is expecting the world but we're in a position now where the club give you info freely. Now, if the info given is worrying then of course people are going to ask questions.

its only worrying if you think its worrying...maybe some don't understand properly what the real objective is that the people who run the club are trying to achieve?..lets face it the record of those running the club, over the last 5-10 years stands up against anyone in scotland doesn't it?
maybe those that run the club aren't going public much now cause they feel like they've answered enough questions and feel let down by the way that the people they give that free info have handled it....
now i'm not saying i totally agree with what i've written above but there's two sides to every story....and the fact thats there's two sides to this sorry mess means its not good....its a sorry mess that doesn't even have to be a mess imho.....and i wish it would just vanish...
if the season starts and we win 5 games in a row then everything will be rosey......without anything changing...nothing...not a jot
i hope it does but i think it wont...cause even after the derby win i spoke to a few, briefly after the game, with their foot in the hang thommo camp...and even though we beat our biggest rivals you could see the happyness was through gritted teeth,,,,,and that was the saddest thing of all...

I think it is worrying mate. I'm not gonna get into a big debate about it though as you already know my feelings on the matter.
My smile after the derby win was definitely not thru gritted teeth haha
