I've spoken to a fair few arabs and read on a few forum that people seem to think that this lad will be some sort of messiah if he was to return to the team.
I don't get it. Yeah, he was good when he played 8 games for us before going all Billy Big Boots with his attitude, but he's done nothing since if we're being honest. He's inconsistant in the Championship for a hot and cold Hibs team. He was put out on loan from West Brom to Portsmouth and Birmingham due to his attitude.
Whats more Hibs would be looking for more than we could afford.
Also ,when was the last time a player returning to United worked out well for both the player and the club? Dickers is holding his own just now, but he's not hit the heights of his first time at the club.
Is there something I'm missing about Allan and his situation that others seem to know about?

In my humble opinion his debut and first couple of games for utd were the best starts fae a youth ive seen for utd since i started watching them in 76....those things stick in the mind
he's still very young....he's still very good...and i can point you in the direction of the fantastic Q&A we had on here with Stevie Campbell....he stated that Scott Allen never wanted to leave and shouldn't have been allowed to leave....blame the ginger humper for that...

Yep, was entirely Houston's fault. Gauld wasn't going to sign either if Houston had stayed.

I just found this place the other day so didn't know about the Q&A session and the fact that he didn't want to go. That kinda shines a very different light on the whole situation. Is that still available to read?
Taking my incorrect comments about him going Billy Big Baws out, does anyone still think he is the answer to our problems given his lack consistancy and the hefty price tag he would command?

Check the hall of fame threads mate...good few brilliant reads....if we get the money talked about for shifty we'd be able to buy him no bother imo and have plenty change

Macho King, if you go the the front page of TEK Towers all the past Q&A's are under the Hall of Fame banner. So far we have had Stevie Campbell, Harry Souttar, Garry Kenneth, Craig Easton, Danny Cads and Sieb Dijkstra. As well as the poster of the week Q&A's.
Tek will hopefully be announcing another Q&A soon with another Dundee United legend once everything is a bit more concrete. It's a big one, watch this space...
In all seriousness, I loved the macho man and old school WWF,

I remember in the Danny Cad Q+A I asked him who the most talented player was at Tannadice in his time. His answer was Scott Allan.
Think he was 16/17 when Cadz was here.

I really liked him as a player. He's just the kind of midfielder I like, can see a pass that others short of long, can't and can go past people. He's still only about 23 so its not as if he would come back as a has-been like say Billy Dodds did for example.
He won't be back anyway. Hibs'll want too much dough for him now anyway.

Agree with first sentence wholeheartedly, unfortunately I saw him perform for 20's very averagely.
Could be down to Billy Big Baws syndrome?

Scott Allan is a good player BUT in the games I saw last season he was very good v us and Sevco when Hibs won 4 zip. In the play off games he didn't put one good ball in box and spent a lot of time trying to play pop star passes.
Strikes me as a bit of a pop star
His debut v Hertz at Tynecastle was one of the best debuts I've seen though. I know a lot of folk blame Houston for him leaving and some blame him and his agent. I don't know the full story but he just needs to look at Armstrong who was probably behind him at Tannadice in the pecking order. He stuck with us and is now at Celtic scoring v Inter Milan. Allan is preparing for another season in the Championship with Hibs.
In short, FUCK HIM

I also find it strange that a lot of folk (mainly on other forums) who are shouting loudest about financial situation at club are also the ones who are shouting about us spending big to get him.
I dinnae get it tbh
