Agree, even the Vulture proudly purchased a pair at Kinross Market not so long ago

Due to my age, I go in the cream puff when I hear the younger ages on here or elsewhere slag Dee fans off for being "Samba" wearers. Hi my names doontheroadarab and I am a Samba wearer, god I feel better all ready getting that off my chest, it all started back in the 70's for me, I started playing futba seriously back then and you needed rubber soles for dry/hard surfaces, screw ins for soft/soggy surfaces and trainers for indoors, I've always thought and still do think that Sambas gave you more control and you could curl your foot around the ba' much easier than with any other trainer.

Sambas have been my weapon of choice for over forty years so maybe habit or comfort plays a part in me still wearing them, I have the black and the blue suede ones and lately have only wore them out in the dark as not to draw attention to myself and feel the wrath of the samba haters, because of my dirty little secret.
Today with the help of Samba Wearers Anonymous and fellow posters coming out I promise to try to wear my Sambas with pride, I know there will be good days and bad but if we stick to the old adage "One day at a time"
someday maybe, we will be able to walk the walk withot being stigmatised
God bless your journey fellow Samba wearers

Sambas are great for fives, agreed mate.

Only downside is they tend to fall apart after a year.

Also a bit of a nightmare to clean shite from the white toecap after a kick about in the local park before the dog fouling unit existed and fines were issued for non pick up. That was until i realised my brother's toothbrush was dual purpose

Can I suggest a wee name change for our support group though?  How about this instead....

Love it, if we got radical we could have an ARSE rally or even an ARSE sit in somewhere ?

I am a Samba wearer. That does feel better.

So I am an ARSE and proud.
