Agreed, the club has always stuck by him no matter what.

I thought he would have signed it also especially with bitegate.
I expect him to be sold this summer.

Interesting we announce this but have never announced many other contract rejections in the past. Clear spin to have the fans say "punt him and tak the cash" so as the club don't face backlash such as January.
Cheers nads, and all the best so long as you dinna go to a certain Glasgow club.

He's gonna get a big ban for the biting incident so would you keep him or sell him now(if a bid came in that is)
Offline
actually very angry with him if its true he isnt going to sign deal, we have stood by him loads of times when to be blunt he has been a bit of a wanker at times on pitch, and i do believe he bit the dundee player, yet he refuses to sign new deal, get to fuck then sell him now

Our policy with an average crowd of 8,000 has to be not to have players leave for diddly, even if we got them for diddly in the first place. Nads had delighted and frustrated us all in equal measures and whilst I'll be sorry to see him go, I would wager that in the rest of his career, he will not get the genuine affection and adulation above all other team mates that he has had with us.
We need to adopt a fresher style of play, starting with more clean sheets, oh and before you leave Nads, gonna give abody penalty lessons, as I have NEVER seen a better penalty taker in tangerine than you in 4 decades!

Fair enough.
Ciftci has been excellent for United and United have been excellent for Ciftci.
He's given a good two years. I can totally understand why he'd want to go and test himself at the next level.
Unless there's a silly offer on the table though, I hope the club hang onto him. Tell him to go and blast his way through next season, do a bit of maturing on the park, and get himself a belter of a move next summer.

lad has ability in spades but i'm totally non fussed tbh...spoke about it many time on here...lad has frustrated me mair than any other player has in 40 years oh watching utd....80% of the time plays for Nadir, 20% plays for Utd...when he plays that 20% of the time he's as good as anything i've ever seen at tannadice...

Don't think this has come as a shock to anybody... to me, the statement looks like a 'we're accepting offers' kinda statement - whether this is right or wrong i dunno. There will be a big fallout if the bite incedent goes against him though. No team will take a punt on him - so we land up with him for another year, where he can get his reputation back as a top class striker.
On one hand, we get some doh - on the other, we get a nadir looking for a move........ I do firmly believe Nadir would be a 'playing for a contract kinda player - see Charlie miller as an example. Maybe we get his best 12 months out of him? Or maybe he turns into a big bairn - who knows.
We've lost better players and survived...i don't expect this to be any different......

Trying to judge quite how reliant we have been of him. Very hard to come to a conclusion with his form so up and down at times, along with the moments of madness on his part. Not gutted by any stretch, but he is not an instantly replacable player. I would say at times we definitely have needed him, but we will get on ok without him. Just need to hope Muirhead provides the goals.

I'm a bit pissed off tbh, absolutely nothing positive coming out the club and now oor best player is leaving

He was never gonna sign an extension as he thinks he is bigger than us and if he did and he was to continue to be a brain fart on the pitch (once he's no banned!!) then he would struggle to get a club willing to pay money for him. Now he is happy enough to spend another 12mths with us and move on with no ties and command a bigger signing on fee.
When he's been on it he's been a delight to watch but this season it's been too few games. He will always be loved for the Rangers semi at Ibrox and the celebration before actually scoring. Cheers Nads you big Turkish Maverick.

Ach well. Life goes on. Thanks for some cracking moments Nadir, particulalry that goal at Mordor.

He was never going to extend. Club did well to get him to sign a year extension in first place. reckon this means he'll be away.
Offline
Think he'll still be at Tannadice until the January transfer window at least.

This.
I can't really get too upset - he's already signed an extension, we got him on a free and have had two decent seasons out of him with some magical moments, hopefully we will get one more good season out of him. Good luck to him, but if his temperament remains the same I can see him going from club to club for the rest of his career. He now has a big reputation in Scotland and will always be up against it; one aspect is he is a bit of a showman/mavrick and entertains, but on the other hand we don't really have the cover when he is suspended (at the moment anyway) and there is only so many times the club will appeal decisions for him.
If anyone comes knocking with a few hundred thousand that will at least cover the cost of Muirhead. McNamara has a bit of time on his side to plan his replacement and hopefully Anier and Muirhead will come on this season along with the youth players.
The bite thing? Its been over 2 weeks and we have had nothing - if they have anything concrete he'd have been banged to rights already.

No-one will want to bid for him till the outcome of 'bitegate' is established, and that's a problem because i can't see us signing a replacement until he's away.
Already this early into the close season have a horrible feeling we ain't gonna do much business over the Summer and will be scrambling about to take trialists in halfway through July.Hope i'm wrong.
Donnelly is already been quoted as saying that Bilate will be 'like a new signing' next season.I hate pish like that.

On Nads i don't blame him for wanting to leave.
All he's seen is us sell our best players constantly and the team getting weaker, him getting played upfront on his own or out of position.
I do hope he goes to Turkey or England though rather than Parkhead (where i think he will go tbh).

Does any ban re bitegate apply to leagues/competitions outwith our own?
At worst I reckon it would be 8 games and he challenges it all the way, even outwith the game using the 'prove it' defence.
Any decent team could cover him missing 8 games with a superior squad.
