Artist of the Week # 10 - Blackberry Smoke
OK, it’s time to introduce something a little bit different to The Towers this Sunday night. I know that some of you were praying for Erasure, but my musical choice to enlighten you is Blackberry Smoke. And no it’s got nothing to do with your smartphone overheating! “The Smoke” consist of:
BRANDON STILL – KEYS
PAUL JACKSON – GUITAR/VOCALS
BRIT TURNER – DRUMS
RICHARD TURNER – BASS/VOCALS
CHARLIE STARR – GUITAR/VOCALS
Formed in Atlanta, Georgia around the millennium, they play a mix of Southern American Country Rock in the mould of The Black Crowes; or Lynard Skynard. Next Friday night (12 June) they are playing The Liquid Rooms in Embra; and the next night, Saturday 13 June, they are up here in Aberdeen playing The Garage. Next Saturday afternoon will be a sesh in the City Centre taking in the Scotland match followed by the gig. Canna wait!!! On Sunday they are playing at the Download Festival in Derbyshire.
