Re: interesting

Anyway my original point was the club have spoken when need be this season and there's nae need for a social networking witch hunt as people were greeting about ST using the clubs cash....

now can those admit it was wring...it ain't the clubs money and can we be patient to see what happens next?

discussion or more burning at the stake......

Re: interesting

Originally thompson wanted Dufc to buy an aussie club. He got told from other directors and fans group that it wasn't a wise move to be using utds money. He's since decided to go it alone which as the club statement says is entirely his perogative but imo he should concentrate on our club first before he sorts out things on the other side of the world. He's the custodian of our club, at the moment I believe he is failing in doing his job which he is extremely well paid for. Time to earn it!

He did use the clubs money though. He never paid for his first few flights himself.

Re: interesting

A fair bit of speculation and inaccurate reporting is accompanying this tale.

One thing: I'd think it would take quite a while to negotiate the purchase of a football club, especially one under the auspices of the FFA which appears to be more open to the supporters and member clubs than the likes of the SFA. The FFA has teminated the Jets' Hyundai A-League licence, which will further complicate the affair.

Yet I'd bet Nathan Tinkler could, in certain circumstances, be welcomed as a fit and proper person into Scottish football, depending on the club.

Re: interesting

Just going to stand back and see what comes of this all tbh. A lot of half stories floating about along with a heavy dose of shite reporting. Since a lot of this started floating about it appeared to be going in a certain direction and so far is going as I have guessed thus far.

Only worry is I would like something to be sorted sooner rather than later and not drag on.

That will be so he can write it off as a business expense. It won't cost the club a penny.

So if they are 100% behind jackie and co then are they just giving a big middle digit to the fans with the half arsed performances?

Its no just about the bad spell though there has been issues circulating before the bad spell started on field.

Re: interesting

Got to ask yoursell if Thomson himself has £2.5m? Well that's about 17 times his annual salary, so be surprised if he did. How many of us have 17 times our salary sitting in the bank.

He does though have assets which are worth about £2.5M, namely his own stake in Dundee United. Doubt if any lender/creditor would accept that as collateral against debt.

The only way to turn that into capital is to find someone to sell his shares to. So, if Tinky is telling the truth, suggests that Thomson has already found a buyer for United.

Re: interesting

I've never heard any player's come out and say they are not behind the manager and chairman apart from maybe Gardyne and Graham depending on the way you interprete their views, on the other hand I've heard plenty supporters say they not behind thier manager and chairman. Maybe the players would be better supporters and some of us would be better players and chairmen lol, i know i sound a little blase compared to the ISIS Arabs around but if we were a total financial mess off the park and on it then i would sharpen my kebab knife and chap up my season ticket too.

he is heading a consortium so wont be putting all the money in himself proberly over 50% of the sum though making him major shareholder

Unless there has been a major fall out its no too often you see weekly starting players come out and say they are not backing the manager and or chairman though.

Re: interesting

Is it ST that's buying Newcastle Jets or is it Dundee United? Probably a moot point? The main question is where is the money coming from that is buying Newcastle Jets? Is it from the sales of United players or is it ST's own personal money? Is there any real difference between the two? Is ST in a sense, also Dundee United?
