the lads in the know seem to think a sale is imminent....most want shot oh Thomson now....NAE cunt in the right mind gee a public update in the middle of a huge deal...so whats with the public outcry at being left in the dark?....twitters going mental ffs

United buy them.... we have first dibs on there young talent and we move on
ST buys them ... Thanks for reducing our debt, and getting us to 3 cup finals and successive top 6 finishes under your stewardship, and we move on.

I'm just irked that the article states Dufc are buying them. Imo utd shouldn't be going anywhere near them or any club.

If Thompson is so desperate to leave i truly hope he gets these deals done asap and hands over the running of the club to someone who gives a fuck.

He has been wanting out all season long and has never once came out and said that.Instead wee tidbits of info have been drip fed by Spence and Duthie and other reports from Oz.

There were two small statements posted during the season by the club in relation to the Jets sage...and BOTH were contradictory.One insinuated Thompson was looking to foster relations abroad for the benefit of Utd,the other the day after Salt'n'Peppa were sold was a nippy wee statement saying Utd have absolutely no intention of doing dealings with the Jets like the fans are fucking idiots.

In the run-up to what is now our biggest game of the season and our last chance to salvage something from the season once again the spotlight is on Thompson and the bloody Newcastle Jets.It has undermined our entire season this pish.

Brochures sent out asking fans to buy season tickets asap and yet we have absolutely no clarity as to who will be our chairman and Manager next season.

Fans just want clarity,that's all we've ever wanted this season...not to be treated like we're stitched up the back.

I think the problem is lads that our club keeps getting a mention as being the buyers, whereas the one thing ST has said is that our Club is not buying the NJs. Maybe he's the one telling the truth here??!!!

As I see it, Colin and Justin were POSSIBLY sold as an exit strategy cash deal to tidy up our accounts to (a) allow the easier sale of the club we care about; and to (b) realise funds for the possible/probable purchase of the NJs by ST personally. Yes it very sadly torpedoed a possible one off season as far as we were concerned, but maybe it was short term gain (albeit extreme pain) for long term gain. I certainly hope so!

Regardless, I hope things are done and dusted before pre season training starts.

Does anyone know that date by the way?

He wasn't even here on transfer deadline day,he was in Australia.

That's not 100% though!

This is obviously a complicated and delicate matter and whereas naebody on here gies a feck aboot what the future holds for ST (the human being), he obviously does - and his own future happiness is more important to him than one season in Dundee United's history - just as I suspect every single poster on every United forum would do if it were them.

And I hate getting the Mushroom Treatment as much as the next supporter!

Right ok...seeing as i don't know him personally and haven't heard it straight from the horses mouth I'll take your word for it he's wanting away....2 questions

1 - what's wrong with someone who said numerous times he would step aside if and when the club was on sound footing and if someone came along he could trust with the reigns of OUR club...

and 2 - if he has almost achieved that and has found the perfect person to hand over the baton...is it totally wrong to not go public with a private and quite possibly very important and expensive contract?....id imagine there's a few grey areas to iron out?
