took over a club , inherited from his Father that passed away....stopped the silly signings...took on a debt that, when you think of the size of Utd, and the fact the money in Scottish football is rarer than hens teeth was a pretty impossible task....stood up to the Huns...defended our club well in the west coast press...top six every season...3 Cup finals....one trophy of which we've only won another 4 in over 100 seasons....
IF...and its a big IF he moves on at the end of the season...says he's kept quiet as he's been working on a deal to sell the club to someone who might take it on another level....IF this happens...does this last 4 months mean his term as Chairman as our club has been a succes or failure?
will he be welcome back or hounded out....

On balance, he's been a very good chairman of the club.
On the surface, the last four months have been a failure, but if he is preparing to sell on to a someone who may lead us to a better place, then that view may change.
As far as welcoming or hounding him, he's chairman of a football club, not Fred West or Adolf Hitler or Jimmy Savile. I'd neither welcome or hound him.

Old Aybirdeen proverb, "Build a thousand bridges; or shag a sheep once.....what will you be remembered for?"
I just want him to come out and tell me, the paying Customer, WTF is the direction and plan?

I think he's been quite a lucky chairman in certain aspects. One example being Goodie. If he hadn't been accused of rape there's no way he would have signed a new deal with us. Also the Rory Boulding goal against Aberdeen which stopped us going into admin.
Re the rangers thing. He would have allowed them into the championship but for fans reactions.

On balance, he's done a good job. He pissed the Zombies off on more than one occasion and also refused to let Pedro Houston hold the club to ransom. He also came back early from holiday in Florida in 2011 to tell Houstie to get his finger out of his arse, which seemed to galvanise us that season as well. (I wish he'd do that with McNamara just now). However there are issues about the governance (or lack thereof) of the club, particularly this season which have clearly put a black mark on his reputation, even outwith the sales of Harry and Lloyd.
I wish he didn't allow figures about transfer fees to be banded about when he knew full well that these figures were FAR more than the club actually recived due to fee's, cuts, add-ons etc. I can remember being at a Arabtrust Q and A where he said that he had a cheque for 2.8 million sitting in a clearing account from Blackburn for Goodie and was having a barny with the bank about the money. I don't doubt that the bank wanted the money, but the figure he said was a lot of shite and he clearly said it just to try to impress the punters there. Clubs a) pay in installments and b) This figure was a net total if Goodie reached a number of milestones in terms of appearances, Scotland caps etc (add-ons) few of which, if any were reached. If he'd been a bit more honest about transfer fee's folk probably would have cut him a bit more slack in the last few months about the sales of the Hitman and Her and the remaining debt.

Aye, he's been lucky no doubt. Unlucky just now right enough.
But see that Boulding goal information, I've no doubt someone has stated this, maybe to Fed members, what I wonder if it's factual, or did the person maybe want to dramatise the event?
