my problem for the last 2 years is 4-2-3-1 gives little support to a back 4 as like school football we end up with 4 knackered wanting to play up front....so play with three there to shield the back 4 and have support either side of soapy...also gives us two 'centre halfs' to fill in if needed , giving the full backs license to get forward
give Nadir the floating role behind a front two who could bounce off one another...henri has pace to play off Robbie's flicks....nadir could play off them both......id say to Anier...right, 4 games to go...play him from the start in all 4 and show us if you've got it....

Why would you change it after our first decent performance in a long time?
We really do not need three sitting players with absolutey no width. That was one of the reasons we've been very bad, with Erskine acting as some sort of winger but always coming inside offering no protection for the full back or actual width.
The formation against Aberdeen was spot on, especially first half with Spittal being able to hold his position.
Souttar/Butcher/Telfer is what I'd want to see. Rankin for Butcher when not fit or even Scott Smith if he's given more game time, as he looked very tidy on Saturday when he came on.
That midfield trio could work very well. Rankin done well on Saturday, but I think Butcher does what Rankin does best....better. They're both very iffy with their passing for starters. You've got Souttar - who as shown against the best midfield outwith Celtic - can do pretty much everything there, as well as Butcher offering physical presence and someone willing to go around the football pitch. A little less defensive awareness needing from Telfer, but he showed on Saturday he's willing to put the foot in.
ANier has shown nothing so far. Four massive games left, he can wait until pre season to show us if he's got it and not in important games.

I'd play butcher instead of telfer for added bite....our width comes from attacking full backs who are encouraged forward by our ability to drop 2 back to support morris and fojut at the drop of a hat
we're still lacking goals and paying good money on a striker to sit on his arse....imo he needs games...proper games
