Re: fed poty

wouldn't have either of them near the first 11...hats aff to Erskine for turning round his horror start but POTY?....no chance...Morris or Fojut for me

Re: fed poty

Stobs, that decision is unreal. For minutes on the park, Morris would've scooped it for me. I would've given Rado it before Erskine to be brutally honest.

Re: fed poty

Dowsers a better player imo

Re: fed poty

Another strange moment from the fed. Fojut, Morris and Ciftci in that order have all had a bigger impact on the entire season. Put it this way if you were told that any of the above plus erskine were out for the rest of the season who would you pick?
However Congratulations Chris Erskine

Part of a defence that's shipped so many goals?

Sorry but don't agree with that.

Both have been 'ok', nothing more for me.

Re: fed poty

Erskine has had a good season for me.

Definitely 'most improved' player.

I still think Ciftci's our best player (in the absence of GMS).Would probably have opted for him, even though he can play better.

Agree with Connolly for YPOTY.

Hope our fans are patient with him, he'll be terrific.

Re: fed poty

Picking Poty this year is an almost impossible task.  No one has had a great season, quite a few have been good in spells but no one has been that consistent over any length of time.

As frustrating as he's been would prob have said Ciftci.

there's more to losing goals than two centre halfs mate...we had one of our greatest ever defenders play in every game the year we got relegated....you defend fae the front...soapy playing in the holding role gives them that cover...and he fills in if they go walkies...and its working

fojuts been good...scored a few goals tae...so's morris...disna help the chopping and changing and bi polar keeper

chris erskine our best player?...come on

Re: fed poty

ps o/t connelly...yes he's young and loads to learn...but i never see an end product fae the laddie...played a lot of games this season...how many killer passes...how many goals?...assists?.....no seeing it tbh....just see another mconalogue...its just my opinion but i see mair in Spittal

Re: fed poty

Not saying Erskine is necessarily poty, but by the same token I don't see it as some sort of injustice and not sure what more the guy could have done this season.

8 goals from midfield (maybe more to come yet),not bad going imo.

I like Fojut+Morris but both have had their seriously dodgy games as well.
That said I think they will improve as a pairing as time goes on.

Re: fed poty

yes...agree..he's done not bad...but our player of the season..our best player over 10  months can't last games more than an hour

How many of the above has Spittal contributed?

I don't think that lads an attacker at all.

I see a defensive player there.

BTW it's Connolly's first season in the first team remember. What is he 19?

see different things in Spittal..its just my opinion mate, i'm not slaughtering the player, ...there's coaches at every club that have to make decisions on dozens of players weekly...have they got something..have they not...i see things that Spittal has that can be worked on as he gets older...he plays with his head up...Gauldy was king at that..soapy and robo too...he's not as good as them but he's got something...imho...yes i agree slightly further back than Aiden

i hope i'm well wrong with wee connelly...but i have a nagging doubt he'll not go further....he's to wee for a kick off...he seems to run into trouble mair often than not and spend half the time tackling with his 2nd touch

Muirheads linked mair with shifty in 2 games than Aiden has in 20....

like i said...its just my humble...not an assination..just what i see......we'll see in time eh

Re: fed poty

Definitely mate.

He'll either sink or swim ultimately and next season will be a big one for the kid.

I think more strengthening work in the gym and more work to improve his cardio and we'll see his natural ability come to the fore more often.

Different players develop at different rates too.

Dow only started kicking a ball about a year ago or so and he was 22 or something.

I have faith in wee Connolly (and Blair btw).

Re: fed poty

Morris and Fojut are incredibly overrated. They seem to get a nod from most folk. They have both been apart of a incredibly dodgy team who has conceded loads.

They seem pretty decent at dealing with long balls, but utterly hopeless at dealing with set plays.

We don't really have a standout but without Ciftci's fourteen goals, fuck knows where we'd be. SO he can have it.

Why is that?

Every Federation member club had the oppertunity to put a vote to its members to see who the members chose.
if the final results are a player that many think shouldnt have scooped the award there is nothing the fed can do about it as its the fans that have voted on it.

Re: fed poty

FWIW, I would've voted for Squiddy too. Earlier on, when we were playing well he usually starred and during our bad run he was often the only player that turned up. I believe Jackie hasn't given him the game time he deserved (seems to treat him as a soft option for hooking or dropping). Probably our most creative player after Nads but does much more of the other side of the game.

Said it before about Aid, but I've seen similar improvement in product from him in the last year that I saw in three years with GMS. Last two games aren't the games to judge him.

The only problem with set plays yesterday was McGowan losing his man (Rooney) too many times.
