Yep.  A huge improvement all round.  Now need to get all the contracts sorted out pronto!

On the Sheep.  Canna believe McInnes didna play Kenny McLean???!!!

And what a bonus Gash Taylor deciding at that late free kick that he could be a Doric Roberto Carlos!!!

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Souttar was fantastic, born to play in midfield.

Thought Rankin put in a great shift, he did give the ball away quite a few times but tried like fuck.

Muirhead was excellent first half, faded in the second but give him a run of games and I think he'll prove to be worth the fee we payed.

Special wee mention to Smith.  He strikes me as the kind of player who will always go unnoticed but always puts in a shift.

Finally, due to work on the Forth Road Bridge it took me three hours to drive up to Dundee today from Edinburgh!  Was worth it to get it right up those mutton molesting chunts.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Watched the hightlights on ALBA.

Not a great deal of quality in the match but looked like we just about deserved it.

Muirhead took his goal well.Great run from him and superb pass by Souttar who again looked solid in midfield.

Rankin looked full of energy today and Rado again made a couple of good stops.

Defence by and large looked organised and compact.

A good victory and my hope is that we can keep a settled side from now till the seasons end,and show these levels of commitment and hunger in each of the remaining 4 games.

Do that and we might just snatch 3rd place yet.

Rado - very good...8/10

back 4 - outstanding...Morris stand out for me 9/10

Souttar - 9.5/10

Rankin - captains performance but passing lets him down 7/10

spitall was good but got injured 5/10 ..replaced by connelly..dinna get the laddie 5/10

Telfer...nup...game passed him by..doesn't do enough for me 5/10

shifty - ahhhhhh...thats mair like it you big turkiksh hunky cunt 8/10

Muirhead - great number 9 performance, good touch, held up well...linked up well with the shift...took his goal great 8/10

Just in from the boozer where I've been since 2 o'clock (or was it 1 o'clock - cannae mind). TBF I did attend the game, so excuse me for being blootered.

Agree we most oe wha stobue says, with a couple of addendum.

Rankin passing pretty woeful most of the game. If you'll permit me, I'd like to  refer to the 1st half where he had the ball just at the edge of the Aiberdeen box on ths right, where he shoulda hammerred it low into the centre of the box in the hope that Shifty or Muirhaed would wallop it in  or it would ricochet off somebody's leg into goal. For me 5/10.

Telfer on a number of occasions was part of 1-2 moves with Shifty etc, but his final pass was a letdown IMO. Shoulda subbed him with Squiddy. So yeah 5/10.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

One thing different in defence was that Fojut and Morris switched sides this week, normally Fojut is at the LB side of the centre half pairing,  it worked well.

Fojut looks a solid defender when Morris is in the side.

Ciftci IMO played his best game for us.

Souttar has a dig in midfield he didn't have at centre half.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Agree with most on the performance yesterday.

Radick 8/10 - Dealt with everything they chucked at him.

Dixon 7.5/10 - Showing signs of his old self now.

Fojut 8/10 - A big baldy rock with Morris

Morris 8/10 - Very good today with Jaro

McGowan 7.5/10 - Very Decent, clattered one of them to

Rankin 7/10 - Works hard but lacked composure on the ball

Souttar 8.5/10 - World Cup pass for Muirhead's goal, great game

Telfer 6.5/10 - Game passed by him at times, need to go hunting sometimes

Spittal 5.5/10 - Done little wrong before injury (i think?) forced him off

Muirhead 7.5/10 - Great goal and a good 1st half from the laddie, looks a prospect

Ciftci 8.5/10 - Best game from start to finish i've seen him play. Trojan

Subs:

Connolly 4/10 - Needs to make sure his boots are on the right feet. Passing poor

Smith 5/10 - Done nothing wrong, could maybe get more involved though.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

thing i noticed time after time with telfer was if an Aberdeen player had the ball in the midfield it looked like he just jogged alongside them...rather than burst his balls to pressure them...done it for 90 mins....also when we had the ball he'd half hearted run into space, put his arm up then hide behind someone like he didn't really want it....he's got the tools the laddie...wish dave Bo would take him training for a week and gee him a bit of fire in his belly...then he'd be a right player

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Maybe Bo does take the midfielders and that's why the laddie looks a wee bit traumatised at times lol

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Hope Jackie switches Fojut and Morris back to Morris on the right and Fojut on the left. Morris has not got a left foot. Fojut had a decent game yesterday granted.

Soapy though

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Just watched the goal again from yesterday: the build up shown is of Ciftci passing to Souttar who plays a fine long ball. But I seem to mind Souttar was back near the tunnel on his own line, and played it to Ciftci who held it up for a time until Souttar made ground to receive the pass in space.

Is that what happened or is it just my imagination...... running wild?

Souttar on his own goal line won the ball, played it to Ciftci, took the return at the centre circle ( longest 1 -2 ever) then played that pass.

Possibly our goal of the season?

Noticed that as well on watching back. Brilliant stuff from young Souttar.

Remember how integral his passing was last season? He can be even more devastating in midfield, spraying the ball around like a young Dan Marino.

Good analogy, but I see him as more of a Joe Montana.
