I say it every week but we need to get back to the high tempo, pressing high up the park game of last season.

Dixon
Fojut
Morris

Butcher
Souttar

Ciftci
Telfer

Muirhead

As ever, first goal vital.

Due a wee bit of cheer!

Futba is a funny unpredictable thing.

Oor roller coaster ride that is DUFC has always been up and down but this season the ride went underground.

Don't be surprised if the end is good!?!

Don't like playing football manager, but:-

First sentence is paramount (but Ranks is one of the best exponents?).

Love the set up because Butch would make that a 4141 and it would put them on the back foot.

Beginning to believe the final sentence is becoming a bit overestimated, I used to think it was really, really, really helpful to score first, but Jackie's recently turned it into crucial for victory where the opposite is the point of no return, and it's obviously not.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Don't have anything against Aberdeen as a team or Club tbh, it's more the idiots that follow them now, funny how things turn around from the 80's & 90's when the opposite applied when Willie Miller, McLeish, Strachan and Simpson used to run after the referee and they're idiots ran away.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Not at the game but a much needed result. Sounded like a great defensive display which is encouraging, how were we elsewhere?

Results going our way else where. Game in hand v ICT, is the push for a european spot still on with ICT having one eye on the cup?

C'mon United!!!

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Agree with that, Radik was V.G too, only negative was young Paddy imo, don't expect him to throw about a big welt like Ashley Taylor about but he does need to show more when his foot's on the ball.

All said, a good 3 points and a great boost of confidence.

Well done United

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Agree with the above. Connolly was rotten when came on. We worked hard. They were dreadful. Quite like this winning malarky though.

Too much commotion

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Good performance, wheres that team been hiding for 3 months?

The number of times the final ball let us down tho, could have been a few more easily.  Aberdeen did have chances too, but overall a deserved win.

Souttar was exceptional, thats the player he can be, he's got it all.

Re: Dundee Utd v Aberdeen - Saturday 2nd May @3pm

Agreed Souttar was MOM
Special mention to for Fojut, dont think lost an ariel ball all day. Some supporters Seem to focus on his poor passing however he was immense considering aberdeen were content on long high ball football.

Mention for Scott Smith also, only played 10 mins, but slotted in like a regular.  Good to see our own youngsters getting a chance again.

If we sort our final ball out...

Lots of positives today. Connolly was very poor again sadly. Really bad performance. Also: why on earth has Morris switched sides?

Connolly needs a run of games.

The bairns will be inconsistent due to learning to cope with pressures, expectations and tactics. Playing against better organised teams might give a player like Connolly a more difficult time with his style but he will learn.

Glad his bad game today ended with a great win so he can focus more on learning than guilt!
