Technology in futba - yes or no?

On Colin Murray and Friends this morning on TalkSport was a fascinating interview with Dr Paul Hawkins the Inventor of Hawk-Eye.  They have been shadowing the Dutch League this season with their technology and he said that there have been about 90 blatant game changing decisions this season thus far that could have been corrected in under 10 seconds using their technology.

Would you (or would you not) be in favour of using Technology to get game changing decisions correct in top level football?

I would be in favour but I am certain that the folk who would monitor hawk-eye in Scotland would just lie and still give decisions to Celtic and SEVCO.  Knowing the SFA the hawk-eye information/video would be kept secret to maintain this.

Too much commotion

Re: Technology in futba - yes or no?

I'd use it for goal line decision only.

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: Technology in futba - yes or no?

YES.

No brainer tbh.

Not just goal line technology for me though.

Take Sunday for example.A quick 10 seconds watching Rankin's tackle back would show it was a foot outside the box.No penalty given and Utd still have a slim chance in the match.

Rugby has this technology and has done for years, yet there's a fraction of the amount of money in their sport.

Football's always been run poorly by the major associations imo.

Absolutely for goal line technology, and maybe 3 challenges per game for game changing decisions.

Should maybe be 333 for OF games?

Re: Technology in futba - yes or no?

Without a shadow of doubt it should be used, in my honest opinion we could have doubled the trophies we have won using retrospective footage of terrible decisions that cost us the right to appeal at the time. Think we all know the underlying reasons for this though so don't hold your breath.

They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah

It's tough, but I'd use It for goal line and maybe each team gets 1 more decision during the match for anything.

Re: Technology in futba - yes or no?

Don't see why not, especially in instances where the game has already came to a stop. Last Sunday with penalty decision being a perfect example. If game is still in action though, should not call upon it. So very similiar to situation in place for the ruggers.

Yes for me. No brainer. Celtic and Sevco will resist because they know deep down how much they benefit from not having it.

Re: Technology in futba - yes or no?

Yes if the rules are set in stone with no deviation, but that would probably rule out Scottish football as the bigot brothers,  Doomcaster, Regan and that clown of a compliance officer don't do set rules , or am I just being a cynic ?

We don't give a damn what the others say
We'll cheer on United all the way
For we are the Terrors of Tannadice

Just a very accurate one.
