Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

SNP for me,
Chris Law just got my postal vote,
Big hairy chinned tweed wearing Jacobite.

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

Voting for anything other than Labour In Scotland keeps the Conservatives In Power. Scotland will sadly never have a say, not that we deserve one after choosing against being our own country.

Who am I voting for? I don't even know yet, certainly won't be conservatives anyway (not meaning to offend any conservatives of course).

As I have said all along, until there is some form of proper accountability for not keeping to promises; or to pure bullsh1tting by politicians, then we are all fooked!

I said it at the Referendum and it is even more obvious now sadly.

That IFS is basically a Tory think tank.

I don't think Scotland will ever be the land of milk and honey but I'm fucked if I'm letting these cunts tell me what to do.

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

I got pretty much obsessed by the referendum. Much more relaxed about this. Still don't think the SNP will win 50 seats but if Douglas Alexander and Margaret Curran lose their seats I'll greet. If Murphy loses his I don't think I'll be able to contain myself

Latest Poll with just 10 days to go has SNP taking 57 seats in Scotland.

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

Going by recent debates/interviews it seems SNP are the only party (other than TUSC) projecting the positive. Every other party seemed more intent on decrying other parties. Tories are now starting to focus on their outstanding economic success, when we have a debt of £1.56 trillion?

I think Labour need taught a leson but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the SNP winning all the seats in Scotland tbh. We need an opposition to them as well. Sturgeon is very good though. If she came out and said she wanted Scotland to be a republic I think I would almost 100% agree with her policies

Still think it'll be low 40s

ONLY the SNP have the muscle to push for another referendum though.

Would never dream of telling people how to vote but if an Independant Scotland is something people still want then i really don't see the point in voting for anyone else currently. It's just diluting Scotland's potential power down in London.

Strong opposition to the SNP can come at a later date and tbh i think it's something even they'd welcome...in an Indy Scotland.

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

Beware the polls!

I reckon the predictions are being made to a) prompt complacency among potential SNP voters, and b) engender tactical voting so that Blue Tories vote for the Pink Tories and vice versa.

Don't think there can be another referendum for years though. At least 15.

Hard to say.

Blue Tories and Red Tories acting the way they are currently and refusing to compromise in anyway with the SNP could actually be the best thing that happens.

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

Vote away tonight. Away on hols for election day.  Hopefully return to the tories out of power and a very large number of snp mps.

In regards the referendum, best thing snp can do is forget it, the more the rest of them keep treating us like 2nd class britons, the referendum will be forced on them by the people. 10-15yrs from now we'll be independent and itll be thanks to the tories/ ukip etc.

Predicts the Salmond will become UK Deputy Prime Minister with Labour in a hung Parliament.

I can't see it myself not that the SNP won't be kingmakers, I think they will be but I can't see Labour coming first.

It also predicts UKIP won't win any MPs, which I do approve of.

Is there anyone here who would be happy to see a coalition with Labour/SNP?
I for one would not lower my morals but would you and more importantly would our party (Question based on the majority of SNP voters on the board)

B.t.w talking about morals or the abundant lack of them yet again.

The Sun group is playing the Devil's Advocate in it's English Edition by backing the Bastard Tory whilst playing political game with the more disconcerting Scottish voters and backing the Nats up here. We all know that Group of Scumongers bows to the populist majority but Jesus have they no morality when it comes to headlines that increase sales amongst people who want an easy going read and a pike at a bit of tit and toosh if only to raise more than a smile 1st thing in the morning! They should really stick to what they're good at and bring back Page3 and leave the politics to the morally educated minority like me

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

I think Scotland should be very wary of total SNP domination. If you actually look at what they have done in government it is a tad concerning. They appear to be on a drive to centralise everything in the central belt, the Police, Fire brigade what next. Voters in the Dundee area need to be wary. government investment is required to get the shockingly high long term economically inactive numbers down. The more Dundee east and west become safe seats the less attention we get.

This. Their record in health (eg waiting times in A & E)  and in education (CfE which is now leading to declining literacy standards) also isn't great. They are now saying its up to schools to reduce the attainment gap.  The only way this is done is through Government's tackling poverty which is the underlying cause.

I've heard a lot of people basically saying, "I don't care what they do, I just want independence."  and "Get independence first, then scrutinse later."  Thats ok if they had won the referendum or another was just around the corner, but what if it is a once in a generation thing that maybe doesn't happen for 15-20 years???? Folk surely cannot go on for the next 15-20 years until the next referendum blindly voting SNP in such overwhelming numbers purely because they want independence oblivious to their performance in Government which isn't great when you look at the policies they have put in place.  At the very least there has to be scrutiny of the SNP in Government otherwise they will just be able to do what they want.  That is not a good place to be in.

Izzard the pretenious wank that he is can just fuck right off. Really doesn't have a clue what is going on, especially up here. Surprised he is backing a political party quite as heavily as he is, as it has never really done any personalities any good in the long run.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/video/2015/apr/30/labour-snp-scotland-election-video - This piece by the guardian was quite good.

Re: General Election May 2015 - Who you voting for ?

Fuck knows what the Labour Party are thinking having unfunny clowns like Izzard following them about, tbh the people of Scotland would best avoid even being pictured in the same street as fruitcakes like him and Murphy far less give them the public's attention they seek!
Mind you I've just gave them it myself albeit a smaller audience than BBC Scotland ahem, doh!
