Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

Dixon, Souttar, Spittal and Muirhead (1st half) played well.

Too much commotion

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

We were by far the better team in the 1st half. Rado didna have very much to do in the 1st half. 1 good save on the line.

Dixon was mainly to blame for the 1st goal. Well outa position. Dont know exactly what happened for their 2nd. Was at the top oe the stair goin for a p1ss at the time.

Once Smelsh1t scored it lifted them and our good play came in patches. Even after 2 still thought we had a chance, but then the GFA obviously gave instructions to the Refs to award them a courtesy penalty after they were hard done by in the SC game. Looked to me to be a yard or more outside the box. We'll no doubt get the answer from Sutherland tonight.

Broon the ballon shoulda been aff. Dirty chunt.

Was on a bus for most of the day yesterday. Didn't get back home until half 2. Woke up at 11.45am. Was tempted to get up and go to game but went downstairs. Put kettle on and made myself a nice breakfast.

Right decision. Fucking sick of Celtic. Still getting a season ticket but I turn into a prick v games with them think I might stop going to games v them

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

Thought Soutar was excellent today. He was up against by far the best midfield in the country and he is still only 18.  More importantly for the future he is already twice the player Paton will ever be.

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

Yet again Brown gets away with one. Until we get honest referees in this country whats the point?

As for the performance, far better on the whole, young lads leading the way, also Rado had a couple of great stops.

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

Well we got our usual drubbing...but there were some green shoots of recovery i thought.

Thought in the 1st half we played the best football we've played for months.Looked really good on the counter and as said above thought Spittal,Telfer and Muirhead linked well.

Robbie Muirhead looked a real handful for their 2 centre backs and that shot he had would have been our goal of the season.Unfortunately Craig Gordon was excellent,as per, against us.

Souttar strolled throught that match i thought.Been saying for ages he should play there and i won't to see him play every match till the seasons end there,if possible.

Dixon going forward looked the best he's been since he came back.Though unfortunately he's so often the source of us losing a goal (1st goal today he's sleeping and miles out of position).

Rado was SENSATIONAL again.I would keep him tbh.Only thing he really needs is real competition.

Unfortunately 2nd half it was men against boys (literally) and our young guys faded out the game pretty quickly after their 1st goal.

The defence continues to be a real source of worry to me though.Fojut+Morris just doesn't work for me.It looked to have potential but they don't communicate well enough and encourage each other.

A real leader is still required in that position.A Lee Wilkie in this side would benefit it immensely.

Their penalty ...well it just summed up Scottish Football eh?

All in all not too dissapointed. At least the players looked up for it.

Still want Jackie OUT asap though please.

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

Was in aberdoom today (young lass highland dancing) so not overly gutted to miss it, sick oh the sight of Celtic and yon Scottish cup replay was enough for me for this particular fixture this season.

Had Skeh go on the phone at points and we looked o.k first half, never seen any of the second but sounds like same old same old.

Maybe the young lads will be the way forward again for us and by all accounts they maybe could see us o.k. If we get a couple of summer signings in.

Better get the piggy bank Oot for the old season ticket again. Will we ever learn

Basically G, I've had enough of games v Celtic. Those 4 games in March took their toll on me. Woke up late today and would have been rushed to make kick off. Decided to cook Mrs Hunted breakfast in bed instead and then went out for a nice walk.

Agree with all that except paragraphs 8, 9 & 12.

For 8 & 9, were you at the game or watching it on the telly because the communication from Fojut was extensive and comprehensive?

I'll choose to disregard 12, due to your obvious positivity in the others.

I cooked Mrs Bugsy's breakfast in bed, despite time constraints , then me and lolarab had a lovely walk as well.

"disregard" my opinion if you want Bugs.

It's my opinion though.

I don't think before I post "will everyone be ok with this? "

Jackie OUT asap for me because the guy is still making the same mistakes as day one.The defence has no organisation and lose the same goals week in week out.He also doesn't enthuse me or a big percentage of our support.I have a hunch the same can be said for the players.

Wasn't there today but have formed this opinion about Morris+Fojut over the course of the season. The stats don't lie.

I thought the players looked a bit burnt out during the 2nd half again.

I had go back to work just before we brought Ali Coote on how did he do?

Bowers, Ali Coote looked out of his depth to me, but he was brought on into a team which was struggling by that time. He was off the pace and shrugged away from the ball too easily, but we have to remember his age and lack of experience.

In general Jackie used the substitutions badly, again in my opinion, and unless Spittal was injured that one baffled me. How Erskine lasted 85 minutes I'll never know.

However, United were encouraging in the first half, and we didn't deserve  3 margin of a defeat. Just started off the second half lazily, and that took the wind out of our sails.

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

The fact that we are giving a 16 year old laddie game time against the 2 best teams in the country rather than a forward with international experience is a pretty damning indictment on Jackie's signing policy.

Did they scout Anier?

Said that earlier mate.

Anier's finished at Tannadice imo.

He'll be sent out on loan till his contract runs out in 2 years time.

As for Coote.Bringing him on in a game like that is asking too much of the laddie imo.

FS, TEK, I "disregarded" your 12th opinion of 12 because most of your other comments contradicted it, I requested further information on two (which you provided and it then made sense to me) and agreed with 9.

Don't think we're so far apart.

Did they have no input for the positives?

We lost 3-0 mate.

We were a wee bit better than we have been but nowhere near the standard i want to see the club play at tbh (2nd half).

We can't score goals and always concede at least 1,normally 2.

How long do you continue down that path before were right in the shit next season?

Fair enough TEK, can see your shift from positivity and I'm feeling a bit guilty now.

Trying to highlight the positive apparently doesn't always work.

Re: Dundee Utd v Celtic (Part 7) - Sunday 26th April @12.30PM

I am positive about aspects of the performance mate, don't get me wrong.

Muirhead,Telfer,Spittal and Souttar all showed that they will be good players for us.

But fundamentaly somethings rotten in the team for me.

I'm just not convinced that Jackie is the guy to sort things out,it's as simple as that for me mate.

No vendetta against the man (who as i've said before i like as a person).

Witnessed your positivity in earlier posts and that was why I was surprised at your call for heads. FWIW Muirhead, Telfer, Spittal and others are there probably solely because of Jackie and his philosophy.

Don't think anything's rotten in the team but believe the heart of the team has been ripped out for the sake of ST's fast tracking and Jackie's been left out to dry and to rebuild, again.

But at least he learned some things for the future. (copyright arabzone)
