Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?

Anier
Muirhead
Erskine

Don't think either of these guys can successfully play as a solitary forward tbh.

If Jmac has the balls to go 442 maybe try two together, you never know a partnership may just be sparked from somewhere.

What have we got to lose?

Re: Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?

4-4-2

.......................Rado..........
McGowan..Fojut.......Morris.....Dillon
...............Telfer.........Butcher........
Spittall................................Erskine
.........Connolly.......Muirhead

Anier has had a few chances without shining, try young Connolly and Muirhead as a partnership.

Worst that can happen is Spitall and Erskine have to mark Celtic full backs, we get over-run in central midfield and take a heavy beating at home.

Better scenario is that the four midfielders can protect the back four when we don't have the ball, can keep it when we do,  Connolly running at Celtic defence causes them problems, and Muirhead has a "Jon Daly 2007" moment and goes onto become a star for us

Re: Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?

Like the look of that team actually Kiwi.

Would maybe swap Telfer for Rankin, but other than that it's pretty bold.

Like the look of that. Only other potential for me would be Anier and Muirhead up top.

Re: Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?

I can't say, because I've not seen enough of him, but I was reliably informed he is an attacking midfielder and not an out and out striker. Playing off the front could be a solution.

But, from what I have seen, we should wait to next season because:-

1. He's not ready, although the potential is definitely there.
2. Our fans are not in a very forgiving mood.
3. Because of 2, we could end up with another Squiddy scenario.

Re: Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?

Think we'll need to keep the ball on the deck for this game even though the pitch doesn't suit it but the high ball won't suit us either if we get it up that far so that's why i think we can play without a target man for this one and at least try to play through them on the odd occasion we gain possession otherwise it may be a very long game

Re: Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?

Got to persist with Anier...ffs canna keep signing strikers, give them 3 starts and forget about them cause some cunts are moaning about them....players need 12-15 games in a row to build up an understanding....but under jmac that's no happening eh

Re: Who upfront on Sunday v Celtic?
