Josh Meekings

Unbelievable Jeff

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/josh-meekings-set-miss-scottish-5560371

Would the equivalent have happened if it had happened in say the Falkirk Hibs game?

If the Compliance Officer wins this futba up here is truly fooked!

Re: Josh Meekings

Is anyone actually shocked by this?

Remember when we got Mark Wilson sent off in a game when he didn't handle the ball but we could even appeal it.

Game is a joke up here

Another poor and inconsistent decision. Make it up as they go along...

Re: Josh Meekings

Remember the 7-1 League Cup semi defeat against Oldco when at 2-0 or 2-1 down (and us well on top) Marvin Andrews handles on the line with both hands and no-one batted an eyelid.

Too much commotion

Re: Josh Meekings

Every club in Scotland could do a MASSIVE list of times they have been on the receiving end of some fucking horrendous decisions. It's usually through in Glasgow and was usually against either Celtic or fucking Oldco.

I'm fucking sick of it tbh. Going to games v these cunts just gives them legitimacy.

Fuck them. I think I might stop going to games v them

Re: Josh Meekings

Agree Hunted.

If legal rules are to be applied they need to be applied consistently and evenly.  It seems to me that this current ane (mair so than Vincent Looney) just picks and chooses what suits him and his agenda.

This Compliance Officer position has been in place for circa 4 years and no-one has ever been done for a deliberate handball.

Just coz the ball hit his arm (which no-one is disputing) does not make it deliberate.  How the Compliance Officer can decide on the "mens rea" of Meekings or prove intent on something that happens so quick there is next to no thinking time would not stand scrutiny in any other legal platform in Scots Law.  This is on a par with the corruption of Blatter etc.

That one was fucking unbelievable.

Straight red and penalty...NOTHING given.

Then 5 mins later McIntyre hits that shot that hit both posts.

Horror match.

Re: Josh Meekings

Ken what.

I think retrospectively reffing a game is pointless if you have no power to chop off a goal, or order a replay etc but.....

I don't think Meekings has deliberately handled the ball, so it's not a penalty.

However, he has stopped a certain goal by blocking a goal bound shot with a part of his body you can't play the ball with, therefore he's gained an advantage and denied a goalscoring opportunity.

If I was reffing the game, I would give the penalty, but I wouldn't take any action against Meekings, I think there has to be some scope to say that you don't have to be sent off or booked, but it is a foul.

If that happened in the middle of the park the ref gives the free kick, but probably wouldn't even talk to the player.

Re: Josh Meekings

If this had been in the Hibs Falkirk game would a fuck have been given?

Another sensible decision made by the employees of our great establishment whose role it is to make decisions which are for the greater good of the game.

There really isna any point any more.

Re: Josh Meekings

And yet................ no compliance officer intervention regarding Zaluska's assault on the ICT player in the box?

Meekings should get a hold of Ciftci's lawyer. Or even better, van Djick's.

Re: Josh Meekings

See that FIFA have said their tuppence worth on the matter and telt the SFA they're making a chunt o thirselves by banning him.

Boy said ICT could go to FIFA if they felt that the decision was unjust.

Begs the Question - why could United no do the same over the Pates incident - were we no telt there was no right of appeal?

Re: Josh Meekings

The thing with Celtic and their letter to the SFA complaining about that handball incident, what would happen if every other club in the SPL wrote to the SFA detailing every major incident they had against Celtic that was turned down.

The 'greatest club and greatest fans in the world' (Trademark) needs to wind their necks in and grow a pair.

The bit at the end we Delilah and Van D1ck saying that they never wanted Meekings to be banned from the SCF, just confirms to me that they are amongst the biggest 2-faced chunts in Scottish futba.

Septic, and Thon Dick in particular, have possibly demonstrated the highest height of hypocrisy ever achieved by humankind.
