Tough game coming up against a team who have been consistently good all season and still have an outside chance of catching Celtic.

Connolly..Paton..Butcher..Rankin
...................Bilate...Ciftci..................

You may not be far wrong but the left hand side looks a little less threatening than it did last week far less last year

Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah

Dixon doesn't deserve the starting jersey currently imo. He's getting it purely out of past reputation.Dillon isn't too rated these days but i think always plays not bad at LB for some reason.

The midfield has been completely overswamped in recent games so would like to see it a wee bit more compact for this one.And it's time to give Nads a partner upfront and Bilate should be that man if Dow is injured.

There's also a bit more physicality and height in the team with Fojut+Bilate in there.

So that's my thinking

No even going to try and predict the team.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United - Sat 18th April@3pm

Heading up early in the car and then train home around 21:00 or so.

I hope to fuck its not that trio in midfield. My god. I don't even care if he was not in the game all of Saturday (still made the goal), Telfer deserves to start a run of games.

I think we may see three at the back again with McGowan moving to right wing back and Fojut replacing Spittal. Something like this:

Cierzniak; McGowan, Souttar, Morris, Fojut, Dixon; Butcher, Paton; Connolly, Bilate, Ciftci

That would do me if he's not playing Telfer. Lots of pace on the break as well as Butcher bursting forward.

Be happy with that, theres mileage in 3 at the back with Souttar sweeping. I'd Possibly start telfer instead of Paton.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United - Sat 18th April@3pm

Five and three at the back are the same thing to me. The wing backs are still pretty deep. I think it was three on Saturday most of the time but McGowan had license to push forward.

The only way I noticed was because of how far left Morris was playing.

It went 4 when Bilate came on it was an obvious 3 or 5 however u look at it until then.

That's what I thought to. Just going with the formation United out on their facebook page.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United - Sat 18th April@3pm

Spittal was definitely  right wing back. They didn't attack much down our right so McGowan was going forward as well.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United - Sat 18th April@3pm

was nae danger imho spittal was playing as a right wing back...he was nearer shifty for most of the first half...must be watching something different these days if thats a right wing back lol...mcgowan was playing more like a right back going forward..as was dixon at left back...when one went forward the other side tucked in...thats what a normal back 4 has done for decades...spitall was never near that....in my humble

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United - Sat 18th April@3pm

How many do you think we'll concede on Sat. They have danger in both wings and a really good centre forward.

I can't see us conceding any less than 3 tbh
