At least we know Morris can't play on the left side if the defence.
The goal was quality. Best move of the game.
Top 6. Onwards and upwards.

Would agree with that, didn't look that comfortable on the left but still, good to see him back in there.

We have Rado to thank for 3 top saves. It was not pretty but you certainly cant accuse the players of a lack of effort. I thought Paton gave everything he had, granted he is limited in many ways.
When Bilate came on we suddenly looked like we could score, if fit he has to start.
Bring on the sheep.

It was a very scrappy stop start game with fouls both ways. We started well, and maintained that for the 1st half. 2nd half the Accies were a bit more aggresive.
We didna have many attempts on goal, about 6 or so I'd say. We hardly troubled their keeper. Defence again was poor IMO. Accies were able to get in our box and make twice as many attempts as much as us. There was a period in the 2nd half, of about 5 minutes when the Accies were in our box with corners, free kicks and just straight determination.
Bilate coming on changed the game. He was able to hold the ball, and kinda control things around the Accies box, allowing Shifty to have more freedom in their box He was sort of a nuisance player for us. Spittal struggled.
Rado saved the game tor us today, with at least 4 or great saves, but his clearances, goal-kicks, and drop-kicks still need to be improved.
MOTM for me was either Connolly or Telfer, possibly even Rado or Erskine. Great win, but the reactions for the goal and final whistle were more of relief than celebration.

At the game I thought the only save that Rado made that I wouldn't expect my keeper to, was the one when the boy steamed in at the back post.
The rest were the sort of saves your keeper should be making.

That's because you are David Blunket.
He tipped the free kick onto the post then had another 2 crackers in quick concession.
His kickin is still pish tho.

I didn't think he got a touch on the free kick?
But I'll wait till I see highlights, Rado loves a tv save.

Dont like to criticize after the long awaited victory, however just as against county last week they had an extra central midfielder in the 2nd half and JM did not alter the formation, Butcher should have been brought on to counter this(Connolly off). There was a 10 minute period before we scored where the central midfield was completely run over.

Whilst not being a tactical expert as merely a fan, I’d agree with you. Jackie and his management squad seem oblivious to organised football structure.
But you’ve got to be happy with a win.

Pat more than happy with a win but you dont need to have been to largs and got the all important badges to see whats going on during a game. However dont want to criticize JM as i normally agree with his staring 11, just wish he was abit more proactive.

Wasn't at the game but just watched an hour of the game on ALBA.
Very fortunate to get the win.Accies hitting the woodwork 3 times and Rado pulling off a few fine saves (the one he tipped on to his left hand post from the free kick was absolutely superb).
McGowan apart our back 4 looks so unorganised and really lacks aggression when attacking the ball.A real leader needed IMO (like an Andy Webster type) someone who talks the younger players through the match.
There were a few wee green shoots of recovery during the game with a few nice runs by Spittal,Connolly and Telfer. But our final ball/crossing is as bad as i can remember for some time. This MUST be worked on extensively in training.
Good finish by Erskine on his left peg.
A rather undeserved victory but let's hope it can spark something in the team.
Only 6 points behind Caley and have them still to play TWICE.
3rd should be the target to give us something tangible to take from this tumultous season.Regardless of who's in the league it's not often we've finished Top 3.
Mon Utd.

Nice to get that oot o' the way, hopefully can breed a bit of confidence around Tannadice ( the players and fans)
A goal in open play, a clean sheet and a large slice of luck ....... What's no to like

Any wins a good win, 3points was all that mattered yesterday. Basically it was a really poor game interrupted on the odd occasion by some really good bits of play.
There were signs that the 3 at the back can work for us it'll take time to adjust.
Credit where its due to Jackie, he made the change to 4 4 2 with Bilate coming on and this won us the game.
Most pleasing thing for me was 11 guys on the park giving their all for 90 minutes, thats not always been the case recently.

The Dixon now is a pale imitation of the Dixon who left us and he's had more than enough game time to get match fit.

we don't have the players to play the old formation..we were much better when we went 4-4-2....but thon was horrendous until we scored..really bad
rado - outstanding
mcgowan - very shakey i thought until he made a few decent tackles
souttar and morris were the same..deffo a lack of confidence through the team
Dixon - horror show
paton and telfer were no bad..no great
erskine i thought tried but was poor..took his goal well
spittal was decent first half but fell right out it
connelly- i'm gonna upset a few here and have the tin hat on...he's never gonna be a big player for utd..there's no end product with the laddie..and he's to small..just dinna see what he's got
shifty..was just shifty
Bilate made the difference and brought the likes of telfer into the game and gave shifty someone to bounce off

Radik: Man of the Match after a dreadful midweek
McGowan: Played better at Dens, looked a little sleepy
Souttar: Wasn't truly tested by Midget Hasslebank and got away with it
Morris: Same as Soapy fortunate to keep defensive clean sheet (see Radick)
Dixon: Bog standard performance, pitch doesn't help his game, 1 good tackle
Paton: Usual, nothing spectacular to talk about going fwd, defensively ok
Telfer: Thought it was a good decision to play him but game passed by him
Erskine: Willing to take a player on and take a pop, not quite fit enough though
Spittal: Laddie doesn't hide very often but poor 2nd half, rightly subbed
Connelly: Works hard, chases and harried but must do better with the ball
Shifty: Pale shadow of former self, give him Bilate to play with Jackie
Bilate: Looked keen enough when he came on, he'd be a player with new legs
Muirhead: Gets thrown on but probably not into his best position though Jackie
Might seem slightly harsh seeing as we won but let's be honest about this, we would have been beaten by a better team, hopefully with 3 points, a goal from open play and a clean sheet behind them they will gain some confidence back and improve on performance in the next game.
C'mon United lets do the shake'n'vac and bring the freshness back

I still dont think Rado saved that free kick, looked like it hit him after the post.
For the 1st time in donkeys years I can watch Sportscence tonight, might get a decent picture there showing a behind the goal angle.
