Justin Johnson

Play him on Wednesday.  Hattrick and an assist. 9-2 over County's 20s. County had a few older players as well.

Jackie was there.

Re: Justin Johnson

Stevie Campbell was saying he came from a tip off fae the same guy who told us about Prince+Morgaro.

Also said although he's very raw,he excites him as he makes things happen on the ball.

He's only signed till seasons end.Get him tied up asap.

Re: Justin Johnson

Official says they are playing the The Rangers at Station Park 2pm ko.  Would have went today as well but had an opticians appointment which ended up lasting an hour would you believe.

Re: Justin Johnson

Speaking to a Coach about this laddie today, says he is lightning quick as well. Also saying Ali Coote gets better every week.

Re: Justin Johnson

So despite the widespread panic that we're heading into the shitter with no sellable assets...we've got the likes of young harry souttar...coote...Montgomery....Fraser...Telfer...Muirhead...Johnson and more to come through?

Dont think anyone has said we have no sellable assets its more when they run out. Are we going to get £1m plus for each of the above?

Re: Justin Johnson

Stobie, I don't want to be overly critical or negative, however, a) players with potential aren't consistant gamewinners now (the likes of GMS and Armstrong were and b) Potential is just that - its not fullfilled. Let me mention 2 names to you - David Winters and Stephen McConalogue. McConalogue in particular had the world at his feet - scoring records at every age group he played at, more scotland caps than you could shake a stick at - and the pinnacle of his career was 40 games at united, with only a couple of goals.

The youngsters may have potential but even the best thought of youths can fail. Would we get anywhere near the transfer fees we have paid for muirhead and telfer? Not a chance - 2 years down the road - very possibly. However, we have a talent gap there. Neither of those 2 are ready for regular first team football, in my opinion - so we leave ourselves open to building up debt and having to sell any of the lads that come through to balance the books again.....

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Justin Johnson

'when they run out '

if yir auntie had bahs.....

I've nae idea how any young player might develop...nae cunt does...we've got a decent record of doing it right so id be confident of it...heard for the last 3 years Ali coote was gonna be bigger than Gauldie so we'll see how that develops

I'm nae massive fan of Thomson or MacNamara but all this is starting to get right on my tits tbh...st obswell was bang on (and its no often we agree) when he said our support is acting like a load of spoilt bairns...heard loads stayed outside dens on Wednesday and hassled the players on coming out of Dens?...really?

good ain

Re: Justin Johnson

Agree tangy but we sold 4 players for big bucks that weren't even in the team 2 years previous....the debt has been reduced to a point where we can develop for 2 years...you point out the tim two being matchwinners...those two won fuck all and arses fainted in a cup final v st johnstone....there's two sides to every debate

Re: Justin Johnson

Bit premature to be saying these players are potentially sellable at the moment Stobes.

As someone else said we have seen players over the years tear up the reserve/U21 team but then sink without trace a couple of years later (Mconologue, Greg Cameron, McCunnie, Paul Walker etc).

The laddie Johnson's only on trial at the moment so to speak as well.

Fingers crossed he's a gem though and we can persuade him to pledge his future at Tannadice.

Re: Justin Johnson

No mate its premature to say they're sellable...its not premature to say they're Potentially sellable

Re: Justin Johnson

Every player is potentially sellable.

But my point was more about not really being able to gauge that potential until we see how the lads fair in the first team for say 30-50 games first.

Re: Justin Johnson

Agree mate....but there's exceptions to that rule like Gauldy and Robertson who after half a dozen games we all knew were a different gravy

I'm just seek oh the bickering tbh....seek oh this pish run

10/4/2015 10:55 am  #23

Re: Justin Johnson

I'd say Gauldie was the exception rather than the rule.

Robertson's rise still amazes me.Just shows how far determination allied to raw ability can get you in the game.

Not to say that can't happen again mind.

Re: Justin Johnson

We need 2 things to happen

1. The fighting has to stop
2. A win
