Got to disagree, TEK. Blue Monday was revolutionary, and while Tainted Love was a good cover version, Say Hello wasn't, too me, very memorable. Almond and Ball weren't great writers, but rather will be remembered for performances.

So it has to be Blue Monday, many aspects of that song were innovative, including the packaging.

Blue Monday. Reminds me of when I was younger, listening to it while I was waiting for Batman to load on my Amstrad CPC 464 from cassette!

I was actually very close to putting in a couple of songs from that album (Where The Streets Have No Name+With or Without You).

But normally admitting you like anything by U2 on a football forum is internet suicide,so i bottled it.

I'm pretty ambivelant towards the song tbh (i don't like it,but i don't hate it either).

I just have never got the big deal about it.Keep hearing people say it's a seminal track. Why exactly?

Because of the synthesisers?Been done for a few years.

The use of sampling?Even as far back as The Beatles mid-late 60's stuff like Tomorrow Never Knows that had been done.

I just don't get the big hoo-ha about it as a track.

Certainly wouldn't be in the running for song of the decade in my book.
