Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Yesterday's game.Feisty affair eh?

How d'ya think oor Tony will find it upon giving it his calm and reasoned analysis?

In our favour i'm sure

What will be Tony's main conclusion?

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Oor only saving grace is that this Timmy Bastard can only cite players and isna judge and jury.

But on the law o averages he's gonna get shifty sooner or later!

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Is it different in Scotland from England regarding mistaken identity?

I'm sure that down there if there is a case of mistaken identity (Paton over Butcher) then the mistake can be rectified, in this case red for Paton, but the player who benefited, Butcher, can't be cited as the ref dealt with the incident at the time.

I have a feeling that both reds, not Dickers, we'll get overturned, which is shite actually, I think we could sacrifice Paton if it means Van Djike is out of the final.

Harsh but true.

Cant see why van dick's would get rescinded its a clear stamp.  But then again....

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Former grade 1 referee charlie Richmond has just said on sport sound he would have sent brown off and he would be very surprised if van dicks red card is overturned , surely not.

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Ryan McGowan is doing a fine job on the above show" that's a bit rich coming from Scott brown plenty of Celtic players have dived for penalties this season without any media scrutiny" ton yersel big man rip into these greeting face maggots.

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

I just can't see them admitting their mistake with Paton without giving Celtic a reprieve too.

I only seen the game live without commentary and no replays since but from memory they could site Brown, Butcher and Ciftci.

Of course, if the ref had dealt with the Brown issue there would have been nothing else to report.

And the last paragraph is the crux of the matter.

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Still nothing yet anyway.  Reckon we are either building up to a mass suspension (Butcher, Nads and Connelly cited along with Brown for them) or a complete whitewash with no-one getting cited and Paton and Van Dijk winning their appeals.

Too much commotion

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Surprise surprise. I can't believe Brown didnt get charged, it's fucking laughable and predictably tragic in equal measures.

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

Its shit about Brown and Nads but Butcher and Connelly being free to play and Paton sure to get off is a pretty good result tbh. If Van Dijk gets done its a fucking great result.  Sunday is surely our best chance imho.

I think I would willingly sacrifice our chances in the cup and tell the SFA to shove the competition! Time to take a stand against these bastards!

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

The thing is you can understand ciftci getting hauled up but why do they just let brown away with it?

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

The fact they haven't cited Butcher (so what was Paton sent off for if it wasn't mistaken identity?) can only mean one thing for me...they are gonna let Van Dijk go free.

Fucking shameful stuff as is Brown getting absolutely no punishment. What would he need to do to get cited, seriously?

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

They can't cite Butcher due to the circustances. They'll probably let Van DIjk off to even it up though, no doubt.

If Van Dyke is given a similar ban then I can just about live with this.

What do you mean they can't cite Butcher?

Course they can.

They aren't for a very good reason and you ken why.

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

I've read that they cant cite Butcher as well. Not sure why not though.

Part of the problem is that the whole compliance officer thing is done almost ad hoc that no one knows what he can and cannot cite. I'm pretty sure that because he saw the Brown challenge then he can't be cited for it.

A joke position and a joke organisation

Re: Tony McGlennan - Compliance Officer (and former Celtic ST holder)

You cannot be cited in a mistaken identity (red card) the baw bag broon probably did not get cited as Thompson probably had it in his match report that he seen nothing in his alleged tackle now let's take that snarling look right aff his pus on Sunday
