Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

Great news.

Showed the other night v Motherwell just how big an asset he is to our club with his versatility and hunger.

Well deserved contract extension.

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

Excellent news.

Possibly my favourite player at United the now, although there are several contenders for that ;)

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

Great news, just wish we could do the same with the whole first team squad.

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

A richly deserved financial award to a hard working player from a Club that recognises International honours

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

I like Paton. He gets stuck in and is a decent passer. He is limited though. I dooubt he's on a huge wage and dont grumble with him being rewarded with a little more. Good luck to the guy. Means we've got a bit of stability in midfield for a few years.

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

Have to admit Im a bit surprised that he's as good a right-back as he is midfielder.

No slating after today's performance Mr Well, unfortunately your judgement was correct based on that. IMO though what he lacks in craft is balanced with guile and for that he's forgiven by me. God loves a trier and wee Jim had a few like him back in the days of glory

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

Had an absolute mare today, culpable for at least two goals and chasing shadows aw day long.

Thankfully he won't face Celtic everyweek.

Re: Paul Paton signs new 3 year deal

i know he gives 100 percent etc but so he should he gets paid to do it but he is so average and i dont get why alot of our fans seem to rate him so highly

I've said to you before mate that against the likes of St.Mirren,County,Motherwell etc at Tannadice when we are all over a team and they have time on the ball and are spraying it about they ARE FINE.

Against teams who play at a high tempo and press the game (particulary on a larger pitch) they are both to often chasing shadows (but particulary Paton).

They are both fine though and good players at this level imo for 60% or more of the games.

I would hope to see Telfer pushing to claim one of those spots this season though.
