Ha no i wouldnae quite term myself as a Van Halen 'fan'.Would never listen to his records,though i don't 'hate' the song either tbh.Guess you could say i'm pretty ambivelant towards him and his music.I just thought it was such a big hit in that decade that it merited inclusion.Reminds me of being a kid,so maybe that's why it was in my mind when compiling the list.There will be other 'childhood related' songs that will appear later on,that no doubt will see me take more flak.Aslong as it gets people posting i'm happy(ish).
Anyway my vote goes to....
NEW ORDER "TEMPTATION"
Also like "Waiting For The Great Leap Forward",great song which was also rather brilliantly the title of the Motherwell FC fanzine back in the day.
It's not my favourite Billy Bragg track though,whereas "Temptation" possibly is my fave New Order track,so that's why it gets my vote on this ocassion.
