Animated Movie Posters

Becoming a lost art. Not used enough imo, modern movie posters struggle to capture same amount of mystery around the film that makes you want to see it. .

Would like to see more of this, brilliant -

Re: Animated Movie Posters

I love this thread Bob. I cant draw for shit but I have a great appriecation for movie poster art.

You cant beat Drew Struzan for me, you might not recognise the name but most likely he drew most of your childhood movie posters you loved, such as...

...as well as most of the George Lucas, and Back to the Future Movies and a lot of Spielbergs as well. They are all amazing.

But not all Spielbergs..here is John Alvin, again an amazing talent..

..But still my all time favourite movie poster is by a guy named Roger Kastel

Re: Animated Movie Posters

I used to get the auld posters fae the UCI in East Kilbride.

Used tae just let you have them when they were done with them.

Recently approached the same cinema (now an Odeon) for an Iron Man 3 poster for my wee lad and they wanted money.

Re: Animated Movie Posters

You don't really see films being poster advertised much at all now. See the odd film on the side of a bus, buts that about it. More reliance on social media/internet now.

Re: Animated Movie Posters

You are correct sir!

Also one last useless fact, this was Orson Welles penultimate movie credit. He was the voice of Unicron.

Re: Animated Movie Posters

I've never seen that Rocky one either. I like the Rocky one which shows the original ending when Rocky and Adrian walk out the door of the venue hand in hand after Rocky apparently throws the fight.
