Win on Wednesday and...

We jump ahead of Hibs and into 7th place in the All-Time SPL League Table.

As they are in the 1st for at least 1 season minimum we should be able to put a bit of distance between them.

Not that it means anything of course, but a nice wee stat.

Would still only move us into 7th out of the 19 teams who have played in the SPL,but worth noting we have more than double the points Dundee do.We are obviously still 'in their shadow' though

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

When the fixtures came out, it looked like 4 pts from 9 would be a good return, great chance to get 7 ( or dare I say 9 now) .  That would be a tremendous start.

As for the all time table,  looking at it there's a reasonable chance we could overtake Killie aswell by end of season.

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

Think we will move ahead of Killie in the All-Time Table after this season.

Some consistency over the years by Motherwell when you look at that table, for what their budget is (probably 8th biggest in Scotland)

Not sure if we'll finish 32 points ahead of Killie mate, was only 19 points last season.

Our goal difference, and goals against in particular, is shocking.  Bearing in mind how good the last 5 years have been, the first 10 were totally brutal.

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

Wild prediction, but I believe our GA could be a lot less bad this season.

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

Don't mean to be pedantic but did the SPL no end in 2013 meaning that we'll never move above Hibs because its the SPFL now?

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

I think where you finish in the league is also taken into account, gains you more points or something.Though i could be wrong.

One of only 5 teams to be ever-present in the top flight anaw. #pwoud

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

Hibs and Killie ffs! Shows ya how things can change in a relatively short space of time. Got Levein, the Thompson family and the youth policy to thank for us being any where near 7th/8th, which is sad considering what I watched in the 80s. Anyhoo, onwards and upwards.

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

That's us ahead of the Hibees.

Interesting that in the 15 years since the SPL's inception we will probably be sitting 6th in the All-Time Table come the season's end.

We are,and have been for about the past 40 years the 6th biggest club in Scotland in terms of support, finances, success and infrastructure.

Would hint that for all our shite years and our other rather successfull one's that we are maybe sitting exactly as we should be in the grand scheme of things.

Hibs defo underachieving.

Re: Win on Wednesday and...

Actually i'm talking shite in the past 40 years we are firmly 4th best team in Scotland in terms of success i'e trophies won, europe etc.

Way ahead of whoever's 5th in that regard.

That's a better stat, TEK, and I've witnessed it throughout (and more).
