No Scottish Managers in the EPL

With the sacking of Paul Lambert there is now no Scottish manager involved in the EPL. This left me wondering when was the last time this ever happened? It feels like there has always been a Scottish manager somewhere in there.

Re: No Scottish Managers in the EPL

Genuinely can't think of a time when there wasn't at least 1 Scottish Manager in England's top flight.

Just 5 years ago or so there was 5 or 6 from Glasgow alone.

I reckon Alex Neill will be in the EPL next year mind you.Has something about him.

Re: No Scottish Managers in the EPL

1984 apparently was the last time. Even then must have just been a blip of a couple of years really as Ferguson took over at Man Utd not too long after that.

Re: No Scottish Managers in the EPL

Its all went downhill since the BBC done a programme on Scottish managers in the EPL, I think at that point Ferguson, McLeish, Lambert, Coyle and Moyes were all still in the EPL. I blame them.

I reckon Barry Ferguson will be the next manager in the EPL

Re: No Scottish Managers in the EPL

i thought after Shankly and perhaps when Tommy Docherty didn't have one of his many gigs there may have been a period. I was unsure when Shankly jacked it.

Re: No Scottish Managers in the EPL

EPL trends are now based on farcical shite that will lead them to ruin when TV cash goes elsewhere.

Probably means fuckall but always wondered if fitba players digest managerial words thrown at them better when their brains are forced into fear, translating something different or even triggered into working by the these over the repetitive shit spewed at thier now overpaid egos by similar style managers fae an awafy young age.
