Re: Celtic vs Dundee United - Wednesday 28th October

Rawlins is going to need protection in this game otherwise he'll be overwhelmed.

Same on the other side to a lesser extent. I just don't think we're quite ready to go toe to toe with them yet because if we do we'll probably lose 5-2.

So Im going 451 with Randall and Farrugia asked to protect space in front of the full backs and only attack when we have good possession.

Walton

Rawlins Bert Forbes Kevin
Randall Cameron Tait Iqbal Farrugia
.........Zac

Negative? Not really, I'd see it like an away European first leg.

I would go with that. Keep Sapsford up top while his confidence is up, and Tait and Zidane in the middle. Parkhead is always tough, but we look like we have goals in us now; we just need to keep it tight at the back.

The style of play we are using this year makes it more likely that we may eventually get a result at Celtic Park. It does though also may it more likely we could get a hammering.
It will be interesting to see JGs approach to this game as despite the recent upturn in performances and results a heavy pumping will see calls for his removal from the Tannadice hot seat.

Re: Celtic vs Dundee United - Wednesday 28th October

Our record there is so bad, they'd have to invent a new word for it, pathetic, ridiculous, embarrassing doesn't cut it.

We'd all maybe shore up the midfield, maybe make it more of a rigid 4-5-1 than 4-3-3 etc etc

I hate the term free hit, but why not go along that line of thinking and have a right proper go, we could try to contain them, but they do have good forwards, they'll have a lot of the ball, they'll get chances. So play our own game, risk losing 4-0 for the chance to maybe get a 2-1 or a 3-2.

A 4-0 defeat could happen even if we knock our pans in, trying to frustrate. A defeat against the champions at their ground in front of a big crowd won't overly impact on our season, but a win there could instil a real sense of belief and ensure we give them something to think about and give this squad the springboard to really kick on.

Same as me. While i don’t think Farrugia’s up to much, he works a lot harder than Bennie & that’s what you need for a trip to parkhead.

I’m confident this team can have a go. I’m not saying we win but they’re good enough to cause Celtic a couple of problems.

Really can’t see us getting anything from this.

Re: Celtic vs Dundee United - Wednesday 28th October

I remember Brendan Rogers was so confident in his Celtic 433 he played it away in Dortmund. They got hammered 7-1.

Good teams that get a result away at top teams all play very compact, move forward together and move back together, very rarely having players ahead of the ball. If our fullbacks don't get protection they'll exploit that space time and time again.

As long as don’t change our style of play too much.

I doubt JG will set us up 451. I'm expecting unchanged tactics

Unchanged.
Having said that he needs more from Bennie.
No getting Jim's love for Farrugia, fair blocking player, prefer Yoro.
I'd have Metsoko on if he feels the need to hook Zak (don"t kmow why he did that)

What's the go with Ferry  ?

Awrite abdy new on here,as much as we would love to see freeflowing fitba the nite we have tae be realistic,I would bring Yoro in for Bennie and pit him or Tait on McGregor if we keep him oot the game and maintain oor concentration and discipline we might just get a result.
