Ferry talking about contract stuff, his failed move, and how the disrupted pre-season is still affecting him fitness-wise.
I admire his honesty tbh, he’s clearly not best pleased with Goodwin or other people at the club trying to force him to take the Czech deal. I said from the minute they made the bid that I didn’t think he’d go there, and I totally get why he wouldn’t.
He obviously won’t sign a new deal, he’s just too polite to say so right now. No one in his position with half a brain would sign a new deal either, he’ll get a much bigger wage and signing on fee at a bigger club next season, so why would he sign on again?
We’ve gotten good value out of Will Ferry on the pitch regardless of what happens transfer-wise. I certainly won’t be bitter when he walks away for free (just hopefully not to Celtic) I’m long since past caring about what fees we receive for players, we as fans very rarely see the benefit of them anyway.

Just read the article, not quite of the same opinion as yourself on the club trying to force a move.
But i'm only basing it on those words and not anything else, others might have heard rumours, or been given some gossip so fair enough.
Players hold all the aces, so we can't really force a move these days, there does appear to be a element of him blaming the club for his fitness issues, but he missed two games right at the start. Hardly a long lay off.
I don't think anyone will expect him to stay, it's whether we accept a low ball offer in January that's the concern, not because of the money factor, but more so because accepting a shite offer shows weakness.
I'd rather he walked away than we take a piss-take offer.
As you say, he can walk away, he's served us well, but if he goes 'there' he goes with thanks for your service but I hope you're shite and end up at Lincoln City etc on loan. 😉

I don't know why the weegie press keeps referring to Ferry as a Celtic target, if they wanted to pay they would have done it. Must be holding out for getting him for free if he truly is a "target".

Reading between what Ferry’s saying now, and his Instagram story at the time & things that Goodwin said about the matter in the press, I’m 100% certain that club wanted and encouraged him to take the move to Sigma Olomouc at the time, and were actually quite disappointed that he didn’t. In fact, there’s zero doubt in my mind that that’s the case.
With regards to a lowball offer in January, I’d say that all depends on how Ciubotaru does between now and then. He’s started pretty well, and if he continues that trajectory, the club might get an offer of say £500k in January for Ferry, and decide that accepting a bid of that figure is a lot less of a risk at that point when we now have a proven, ready replacement in the building than it would’ve been taking a lowball bid in the summer.

Don't know what's going on but it feels like he's on a pre contract already.
Shame.
Let's hope we can get something out of him between now and January when as JD says we'll accept lowball offer. Fear it be Parkhead.

Got a feeling, we’ve possibly got good deals for sevelj and eskesen where the club will probably be ok with him leaving for nothing in the summer.
Early days but Kev does look like he has something, if a 500/600k offer does come in jan, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s off, then you get Kev’s replacement in the building.
