Our B team gets pumped 5-0 by a Highland League team. Meanwhile Aberdeen's B team pump a full strength Forfar team 3-0. I am aware Aberdeen played a few over age players but still. Pretty sure a game like this would have been of benefit to boys like Merghem, Farrugia and the like. Surely having 2-3 experienced players there to help out and talk to the young lads would help? But we decide to just send the kids out to get hammered. I don't get it. We only had 3 players on the bench too. It all looks a bit amateurish and embarrassing. What are the benefits of our approach to this tournament?

I don't get it either.
We've obviously learnt fuck all from last season. Just sending a full team of kids out to get battered off of men. What are they meant to learn from that? That they need to be physically stronger? We already know 15 and 16 year olds need to grow stronger. That's a given.
As you say we could have gave minutes to Ross Graham, Neil Farrugia, Kevin Ciubotaro, Mehdi Merghem, Ruairidh Adams and just complimented that with 6 other kids, with the bench made up of the rest.
I really would love to hear our reasoning on this. It's brainless imo.

Making a better fist of it tonight 0-0 half time against Cove. Stats don’t look the worse either.

United B play Formartine United away tomorrow night.
They beat Dundee B 4-1 last month.
If we had any sense we'd play 2 or 3 fringe players needing game time and sharpness (Metsoko, Graham, Naamo etc).
See no point in a team of 15/16 yr olds getting battered.

If they’re eligible to play I’d agree 100%. They must be well short of match fitness.

Play a few overage players, there's no game this weekend, give them some minutes.
Play Metsoko, he might score a goal.
Play Graham, we might need Metsoko to score two goals.

Recently took him from Nottingham Forest seemingly. Capped at youth level with Northern Ireland

Hadn't heard of the lad until tonight. Seemingly just signed.
What a start for him.
One to look out for.
