Huge game on Saturday.
What would be your starting XI and formation for the trip to Ayrshire?

If we lose, he must go. We will lose at Motherwell next midweek anyway so the double header lose will absolutely end his reign.

The dreaded 3 at the back returns.

We have to play our strongest starting 11.
The problem is, does Goodwin know what that is? I certainly don't know because there are too many not performing.
RB is a worry, neither Rawlins or Naamo look good, but I don't want to put Sevelj there again because we lose somthing in midfield.
I reckon this is a game where we should let Leiper loose. I think he has something in his locker that we need to see. He won't progress if he doesn't get game time.
Assuming everyone is available, I'd go for -
------------Walton---------------
Naamo Iovu Forbes Ferry
------Sevelj Tait Agyei--------
---Sapsford Rose Leiper----

Jim Goodwin has been admitted to hospital overnight and may miss tomorrow's game.

I might change my prediction to 4-0 now.
Joking aside, reading the story it's not giving much away but doesn't sound serious. Hope it's just precautionary and there's nothing wrong.

That's not good to read.
Hopefully all is well quickly and the players get him a result tomorrow.
Time to put all ill-feeling and criticism to one side (for a day at least) and back the man 100%.

Hope it is nothing serious. Stress is a horrible thing though and causes lots of consequential issues so hopefully we ease his concerns by thumping Killie tomorrow...

If there are any signs of foul play regarding Jims hospital visit, can someone check that Conway 11 has an alibi.

Yeah and make sure he isn't sticking pins in a wee doll.

Agree totally. Get well soon Jim.

Just think if it is stress related to the type of things posted about getting rid of him etc, what effect our comments do have on the club personnel, especially our young players. There are ways to get our point over without the vitrial and hate.

That's the nature of the job though mate. Jim himself will know that and Dundee United fans are certainly not unique in having supporters who can be critical of the club and everything to do with it.
In fact if you look at the online meltdown from Rangers and Celtic supporters this midweek, then i would suggest our 'vitriol' is rather tame in comparison.
All that said, as i said above, lets really back Jim and the players tomorrow. Whether he makes the game or not.

Noticed a couple of times from radio pundits about the comments Arabs make about Jim.
Have a look at the Charlie Mulgrew golf cast thingy… Jim himself mentions the “love” from some United fans.
Perhaps, we as fans, need to take a step back and realise there’s a person behind the job.
I do agree with the poster above, what effect does social media have on players. Not just the young ones.
Cast your minds back to some of the players who get pelters wearing tangerine but then went onto greater careers away from Tannadice…..
And then again there’s a rake of players who couldn’t trap wind let alone a ball 🤪

Get well soon JG
I personally support Jim. Extremely good on the man management and organisation. Speaks well. Good recruitment. Some good players - almost all got for free. No one is going to be 100% strike rate when it comes to getting players to adapt to Scottish football.
He is ok tactically but I feel that is area he could improve. I worry Sharp and Bowman are good support staff but he’d be better with a different voice in addition who was more about tactical preparation for each match and in game management.
He’s a really good manager though when you compare our record over last 10 years and what he has achieved consistently.
Some are mentioning Robbie Neilson. He just always played 4-2-3-1. The football was mostly boring but saved by Shanks. He was ok and left pretty early. I would put him below Goodwin in pecking order.
Likes of Csaba that we had were an absolute joke.
JG is the best of our most recent managers and his record shows that
I hope he is fighting fit soon and can lead the team to some success this season, top 6 and some decent football once the new attacking signings have got going
