Taking Kilmarnock from the bottom of the league to 3rd place , with a record points total and European qualification in 12 months is not the sort of stuff we would want at Tannadice.

 
That was 7 years ago. Are we basing a manager's credentials on something he did last decade?
If that's the case Robbie Nelson got Hearts 3rd and a Scottish cup final in 2022 so maybe should go for him then.
Another limited coach who plays horrible, dinosauric football would be swapping like for like and would probably cost more money, so no thanks.

Robbie Neilson absolutely shits on Goodwin in every aspect of managing/coaching.

Fuck it, here goes, if you didn't laugh you'd greet, so whilst this post may see me sectioned, you gotta just think out loud sometimes. I'm naturally a glass half full person, so you live in hope things will get better, added to the fact that I don't think the manager is under pressure from above so we have to watch it play out.

Rawlins has some way to go to prove himself, Naamo needs to be able to get dressed in the morning without injuring himself, those are two options the coaching team prefer.

If Agyei isn't fit then, keep Sevelj in midfield, we persist with Rawlins. It's far too early to completely write a player off, so lets give him the chance to find his feet, what's the worst that can happen, we lose, he fucks up? That just puts another nail in the manager's coffin.

A fair chunk of fans are now coming round to the idea Goodwin's time is up, any new manager will have to get a tune out of this squad, even if he loses on Saturday and was punted there's no time to make signings or get a new guy in ahead of the window closing.

But all of this wouldn't be an issue if we weren't so wasteful in front of goal, I read it was something like 50 efforts in our last three games and only five were on target, all on Saturday, and I don't think the Dundee keeper was ever tested.

Ability wise there's not the same pool of players, but in 96-97 when Tommy McLean came in we got a flukey goal that led us to beat the Sheep, I live in hope that one goal, one victory might be all that's needed to kickstart the season.

We went 6 league games without a win and were knocked out the cup by Dundee on pens at the start of that season. 

Fuck knows, there's real issues to work on, and i'm not suggesting this lot can hit the heights of that team, 3rd and a cup semi final, but this league has about 8 teams who are all a bit pish, i wouldn't take much to rise above all that.

2 points from our opening 6 games, and we finished 8 points ahead of 4th place.

You can pass me a straightjacket and measure up my padded cell and come Saturday if/when we lose and don't fulfil my 3-0 prediction, this'll look even dafter than it does now, but i'd rather try and avoid walking around like i'm the subject of a Leonard Cohen song.


 

As I said it there's not the same quality or ability, but Scottish Football is pish, it doesn't take much to rise nearer the top.

You gotta live in hope that the positives, if you can take them will click. 

Pick the XI best suited to play our game, not chop and change based on a perceived opposition threat.

I don't think it will happen, but Saturday should be a wake up call,  you try to be too clever overthink it, it'll bite you on the arse.

The worry is he falls on his sword because he knows better is too arrogant to change his ways.

1.  How many points over the first three league games did we expect.
2.  11 new players and pre season jolly not until the international break.
3.  A new formation, which we fans were calling for.

We seem to be great at heaping pressure on the club at the drop of a hat, and we say all the same things.

A new young team with young players, reading some of the posts, they must ask whether the decision to join united was a correct one.

Supporting since the sixties, seen good, bad and terrible but never once thought my decisions or thoughts were/are better than those running the club.

I would agree with a lot of that Stucam. it’s been a poor start and losing against Dundee never helps a managers popularity.
There is no doubt fans ( of all clubs) are much quicker to get the pitchforks out than previous generations. However as I said earlier in this topic if JG fails to get a victory in the next 3 games, Kille, Well & Falkirk the calls for his dismissal may force the boards hand.

I wouldnt argue with that. That would add some reality to the situation.
