I thought the post itself was pretty innocuous, hence why I wondered if I had missed something.
Assume Goodwin has been asked about it directly at mid-week media rather than going out of his way to say it. I don't think his quotes are all that damning either to be honest.

That did cross my mind.
It's revealing that Goodwin seems to know everything that is said online. He's more than once publicly decried social media.
I think our Jim has a few burner accounts despite his protestations.![]()

I like that Goodwin called it out. What Pan posted caused social media/forums to assume he was on the way out. Not verbatim but "some doors have to close for others to open" with a picture of a United top paints a pretty clear picture and causes uncessecary rumours about him leaving. One of my main pet peeves of the modern player. You get paid handsomely to do a job we'd all kill to do. Treat the club that is paying you to do that with some respect I say. Bet he wouldn't have posted it if he was in the starting 11.

Saw a clip of him golfing with Mulgrew - few moments in there that he comments on "they slated me when I was Aberdeen manager"
Definitely watches and listens.
Well if you're reading this Jim. Hand your notice in tomorrow if we lose.

Who would you hire in his place?

I once discovered that my work was being discussed online somewhere 2 or 3 years ago now, and the comments were no way as personal as the stuff you see in football circles so mainly it was quite funny but it was strangely addictive. I don't believe any player/manager who says they never look, especially when social media presence is such a big part of football these days.

How much are you going to pay me to make this decision?

I know you didn't ask me personally, but just in general conversation. Mark Wilson has done well with Partick and seems to be carrying that form into this season. He feels like a more natural replacement if we did give Jim the boot, although I'm not personally pushing for Goodwin to go (Yet). I also don't trust the club's hierarchy to choose a successful foreign manager, which seems to be the fashion in the SPL and for good reason.

Mark Wilson my thoughts as well,we should know how
season going after 10 games or so,and top 6 or better a must. Or maybe Scott Gemmil ? But hope Jim gets us going starting today.

Why on earth would you even suggest Scott Gemmill?

Chat there is that hes been told he will never play for them again and that he is demanding a free transfer.
Would we want hin? Was a bit immature at times at united....but was also a long time ago is he better than bert/graham/iovu
Could we afford him? I dont think so unless we lose one of the other 3

I'd have Souttar back 100% .

We are in BIG trouble if we don’t sign a striker

Agyei to Israel for 2 million, what i got told at the game so don’t know if there’s any truth to it.

The club should pay for a couple of extra big suitcases and he can take a few other players with him.

A proper penalty box Striker a priority. Preferably one who can head the ball.
We must also go back in for Amar Fatah. He's still at Troyes and from what i can see not featuring. Not even on their bench yesterday.
Move Heaven and Earth to get him back at Tannadice.

Well yeah, he was U21’s manager, he didn’t exactly have much option did he?
What he’s got a great record of, is doing terribly and underachieving with said young Scots.

Correct on both accounts. Particularly the striker, but I said the same about Fatah last night if it’s at all possible. I think the reason he isn’t in their squad though is because of the injury he suffered at the tail end of last season for us.
An experienced centre half is also required. How that wasn’t target #1 this summer is ludicrous. We’re still playing with 3 of the 4 centre halves that shipped stupid goals every single week last season. Goodwin decided Bert wasn’t good enough by about Christmas last year, now all of a sudden he’s starting every week.

Too add to what I’ve said earlier, I really can’t fucking believe that lessons weren’t learned from last years recruitment. Goodwin himself admitted he’d went too far in the direction of young foreign players, and this summer we were gonna dial it back a bit and look closer to home, and most importantly, look for experience. Instead, he’s doubled down on the same type of recruitment as last summer, only this season’s bunch are even worse.
To fill the team with so many players from the Australian league - when the hit rate of players from that league in this country is very poor - is just absolutely suicidal. Not one of those boys is of the required level, or even close to it.
Thon Metsoko is an absolute diddy too, could tell that within about 5 minutes of watching him.
I absolutely despair Will Ferry leaving, cause he’s about the only player in the squad that’s not somewhere between average and utter shite.
Mark Ogren should think twice about pocketing the Ferry money when it comes in, cause I can smell a relegation battle a mile off with this group of players. Go to Partick Thistle and give them money for Ben Stanway in midfield (Get Camara to fuck), Ben McPherson for RB & Aidan Fitzpatrick for LW. Go to Falkirk and get Leon McCann for LB. If there’s any truth in John Souttar wanting to move closer to home, then go get him. I’ve no idea who you bring in up front, but they better figure something out quickly, because those two ain’t scoring many goals this year.
Big 10 or so days coming up. Ogren and the Goodwin’s needn’t think their recruitment drive is over just because they’ve signed 12 players, because most of those 12 are utter shite and will get us relegated if we don’t improve upon them. At the very least, we need to sign a RB, a CB and a ST, and that’s without Ferry going.
