No Agyei.

Please tell me he isn't away or long term injured

Notice no Eskesen either. Bit of a blow neither are available.

Camara wanted his chance, he's got it. He better take a game today. No excuses.

My thoughts too. A few surprises in there. I just hope Pan isn't full of the wrong adrenaline, needs to keep the head and just play his game.

Agyei I'm guessing is probably injury. There's been interest in Eskesenn so maybe he's heading out.

36 in and Metsoko looks a passenger. Need to swap for Sapsford at half time.

42 Yoro gives the ball away. Dundee score. All our pressure counts for nothing.

Edit to add PS first half has been like watching Dee TV

And get Randall aff too! Don't think the lad understands the intensity needed to win a derby.

If we lose this match it will be further evidence that our coaching team are unable to coach forward play.

67 2-0 down now, we're trying but in all honesty we look clueless in the final third.

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

We keep signing some decent players but the common denominator is the manager and his hopeless assistant being unable to coach final third football.

85 minutes. We look like we will never ever score another goal. Ever

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

What is even more annoying is that our complete uselessness has made their manager look like prime Pep and the West coast media are going to lap it up.

Time for Goodwin to go. And his hopeless coaching team.

Agreed. Think Goodwin's run out of road and be good if our club acknowledged before this season goes sideways.

This debate has been bubbling around because no one trusts the current United board to pay the money to bounce Goodwin or find a better replacement.

The pressure will definitely build now. Hopefully.

A total fucking disgrace but I’m not surprised 👍

What is bewildering is that he’s not been sacked at full time

Walton😂 fucking pathetic recruitment. As usual.

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

At the end of last season we should have shook hands and called it a day

We are a steep decline while other clubs around us Motherwell hibs hearts are all absolutely miles ahead of us- ffs even st mirren won a trophy last season.

The recruitment again looks shoddy however every player we sign cannot be bad players- some of these boys have a very good pedigree- come to us and become pish. That all lands at the managers door- keeping him on now is only delaying the inevitable for me.

IMO unbelievably we actually look a not bad team from back to midfield however going forward jeeezy peeps- dire. Again today we could have played 180 mins and we wouldn’t have scored. We are still reliant on set pieces but signed midgets so we want to play but he still reverts back to the long throws, lumping ball in from a corner etc

Big trouble on the horizon I think

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

Very fortunate goal against Rangers, haven't looked close to scoring since. Could've played all night and no scored again.

I consider myself a glass half full guy but that was absolutely shocking today, Metsoko, Randall Anonymous. Bennie, Rose, Yoro all pish. Meghram tried but offered little.

Haven't saw the second goal back yet, was in the ET so hard to see, but the first goal is no fault of the back 4.

Lose next week and the alarm bells are well and truly ringing. Feels like the beginning of the end for Mr Goodwin

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

We were fine for the 1st 25 mins, then it went all to phuck. You could say the BNBs were the better side, but they werena exactly up against it.

The front line was hopeless. They couldn't string a pass together. Finishing awful, and this is we Rose and Zac on the bench.

Then the worst pass oe the gehm gifts them a goal. And we canna clear a ba.

Players in the box we the ba. Not one oe them taking a wallop at the goal. Just passing to somebody else. And it goes on like this till we loss the ba and they clear it.

We canna afford any mair gehms withoot scoring.

A lot of our fans are so acceptant of this too.

I genuinely think we could plod along for the next 15-20 years without a trophy or Hampden visits and there would be a meek acceptance of it. I don't sense a burning desire for United to improve from anyone at the club.

Look at Mark Ogren's comments about United yesterday. All he went on about was money, either in regards to him making some or losing some.

No comments about having a desire to see us win a trophy at anytime under his tutelage or for us to get closer to the pack even. No comments about improving Tannadice or getting the Academy to produce better. Nothing positive at all. All about him.

The parade is passing us by as a club.

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

The team who wanted the win more today got the win. That was a Dundee side to without a recognised No.9 and with two of their better players in Murray and Hay missing.

After 20 years of no Derby defeats at Tannadice that is now 3 in the last 4.

We could have played all night tonight and not scored. Already this early in the season that is a recurring theme.

My player ratings on yet another depressing afternoon.

Walton 6 - Whilst i wouldn't blame him per se for either goal, if he just comes and catches a cross at anytime then their 2nd doesn't come about. It takes so much pressure off of a defence having a Keeper who can do that. I'd very much like to see what Jordan Amissah can offer.

Sevelj 5 - We were all asking for Vicko to slot into RB and Goodwin granted our wish, but for me it never worked. Allan Forrest (who i don't rate) gave him a bit of a torrid time tbh. He is a shadow of the player he was in his first season. I seem to say that a lot about our players.

Esselink 6 - Strangely didn't think he was bad again. But also don't think he and Forbes are working as a duo given the goals they are conceding. One great block on the line to prevent a certain 3rd Dundee goal.

Forbes 5 - Just doesn't win much in the air and his passing continues to be poor. Particualrly his long passing.

Ferry 5 - Shadow of himself for the 2nd week running. Mentally he's 'away'. If he's going hopefully it's done and dusted this week so we can move on and make the two or three signings we need before the window closes.

Camara 6 - Probably his best display for a while, but still way below what he offered in his first 6 months with us. Not helped that he was essentially playing in a 2 man midfield, given that Yoro was so far forward in the first half.

Tait 5 - Never got the hype about this signing. Watched him for Falkirk twice after we signed him and he never impressed either time. He is on the ball a lot, probably the most active Utd player in terms of touches, but he does next to nothing with it. He's made the midfield weaker imo.

Yoro 6 - Clearly a very talented lad. But just looks in the wrong movie. Number 10's just never work in a Jim Goodwin team for whatever reason and we've seen plenty evidence of it (David Babunski, Julius Eskesen), yet he continually signs one every Summer. No-one around him seemed to be on his wavelength today (attacking wise). He was then asked to do a job that clearly isn't his game i.e. ball winning. He looked like a fish out of water tbh in a blood and thunder Scottish derby where everything is 100mph.

Randall 5 - Nowhere near the standard required. His first touch is poor and i've yet to see him beat a man or even take a man on. So wasteful when we break.

Metsoko 4 - Awful and a complete waste of a jersey. Either can't jump or won't jump. Never won a header all day. He was also glued to a Defender constantly and never finds a pocket of space in and around the box to receive a pass. Another VDS/Moller in that regard.

Merghem 6 - A bit like Yoro in that he's clearly quite a technically talented player, but he just looks in the wrong movie. Nice skill once or twice but his team mates not on the same wavelength to receive his pass.

Subs -

Bennie 5 - Shite

Sapsford 5 - Shite. His first touch just an abomination and kills stone dead that big chance he had when he was one on one.

Rose 5 - Such a poor player technically. His finish when it looked easier to score just awful.

Farrugia 5 - Offered nothing.

Re: Dundee United vs Dundee - Saturday 22nd August (5.45PM)

Thought Yoro looked really good in his cameo against Celtic and was pleased to see him starting, but holy fuck he was rotten yesterday.  I get he’s new to the league etc and it was a derby but to just stop when he gave that ball away at the first goal is unforgivable.   I actually thought Dundee were stinking when they had the ball but they look a lot for organises defensively than us that’s for sure.

Easier said than done but quicker ogren is gone the better. We are in big trouble if there isn’t a rocket up the arse pronto- conceding goals and scoring zero is a recipe for relegation

I’ve been beating that drum for a long time on here, only to be told it’s just because I have a blind personal hatred towards Mark Ogren and Jim Goodwin. Utter nonsense obviously.

The initial novelty and enthusiasm at buying a football club has long since worn off. Mark Ogren has no ambition for Dundee United other than for them to repay his investment. There’s zero downward pressure from him on the people running the football operation to be successful at anything other than remaining in the league. Finishing 7th is inconsequential to him, so are the abject performances Goodwin has been subjecting us to throughout his time here. To him, Goodwin’s doing a fine job.

Which is why I advocated for people to withhold from buying season tickets early in the summer, to send a message that what’s happening on the pitch isn’t good enough, because I don’t actually think Ogren realises that it’s not.

Unfortunately a massive section of our fanbase are so irrevocably damaged from two relegations in the last decade that they see floundering about in lower mid-table as something to be grateful to Ogren and Goodwin for. I’ll never see it that way I’m afraid.

We are not a petrol station, or whatever he made his money in. We’re a proud football club with a rich and storied history. Mark Ogren has no ambition for the club from a footballing perspective, and that’s up to him, but then he has an obligation to be immediately and actively looking to sell us to someone who does.
