Out-
AMB (Walton is an upgrade)
Strain (Rawlins is worse)
Kerestzes (Forbes is probably better)
Ferry (The Romanian needs a few games to judge)
Luca (Rawlins can’t get near him, Agyei’s done okay to help replace him in midfield)
Sibbald (Tait wants the ball more and looks more of a leader)
Fatah (Randall couldn’t lace his boots)
Dolcek (Merghem/Bennie remains to be seen).
Watters (Rose works harder, just as good a finisher as that dumpling though)
Bin the data led recruitment. Get some scouts out around the UK and actually watch players.

As I said before, the ceptic team yesterday was valued at 10 times ours. Put that in perspective
, judge against a realistic opponent and we will see how good our players truly are. Not a skoda versus a jaguar.

A Skoda is a better car than a Jaguar nowadays lol.

A couple of the players are looking a bitty like rabbits in the headlights, but they've just played 3 of the toughest opponents we'll face.
A real baptism of fire, I think we have to allow at least a full round of fixtures before making proper judgements, some players hit the ground running, some take a while.

Few players coming to us are going to be as good as Fatah or Luca. Otherwise, it looks like you think we've had upgrades or, pretty sensibly, that it's too early to tell. We've just played what will most likely be far away the top three teams this season, and despite two 4-0s, played alright. I'm not as positive as some about the 4-0s, especially the Hearts game--and think, especially, the midfield three need sorting out asap. But am not (yet) hitting any panic buttons.
I'd like to see a proper right back in the building, and if Ferry's off, we're going to need competition for left back. I'd also like to see another centre half, though despite the goals conceded, I don't think there's much wrong at the back.

Right back is the biggest issue for me just now. Naamo can’t seem to stay fit and I wasn’t particularly impressed with him last season anyway. Rawlins looks miles off it. Sevelj could probably do a better job there than both but don’t think that’s really his best position.
We have some good centre mids, we need to find the 3 that will work best together. From the very little I’ve seen of Yoro I would suggest he will be one of them. Tait has also been decent. Then I think one of Sevelj or Ageyi (both have blown hot and cold so far).
Up front I’m really not sure what our best 3 are, plenty options but none look like definite starters at the moment.

I wouldn’t mind, Yoro, tait and sevelj in the middle

I'm not going to write off Rawlins. It's his first few games, against some of the toughest opposition he'll face. Likewise Randall, who's come in for some flack--and should have got the winner against Rangers--but seems to me to be pretty decent, and may yet do very well for us.

Pan cam posting a cryptic private instagram story with a United top and “new chapters beginning, old ones need to end”.

Another to add to the long list of failures.
The chuckle brothers at it again.

Why?
Camara did well for us last season and we've now brought in players who are better than him. If that leaves him excess to requirements then I'd say they the Goodwins are doing the recruitment side of things quite well. Especially if we get a good fee for him. I like Pan, he always gives everything he's got and never gives up, but if he's not going to play ahead of Sevelj, Tait and Manny then maybe he has decided leaving is the best thing for him.

Pans main attribute is running about. He said it in his first interview and has proven it since.
I like him but won't be gutted if he's away. I do wonder if it leaves us with enough depth in the middle though.
As a side note, we haven't fully utilised the loan system - so potential for 1 or 2 to come in with that?

Camara when he first came in was like Willo Flood, an absolute terrier in the middle of the pitch, but limited otherwise. We loved him because he looked like he cared and our midfield was too powerpuff, getting over-ran constantly.
But he has no real discipline, often caught out of position, and he eventually lost his place, maybe mainly because Manny did/does it all better.
I'd rather keep him, but if he's not going to be a regular, we can get a fee or use his wages to bring in an area where we're still lacking then crack on.
Agree with above, that if that's the recruitment plan, bring in what's needed and replace with better as we move forward, great, but i'd have been looking at other areas first, midfield is an area we mostly get right, defence, wide players and a proper CF, not so much.

Any idea what Pan actually posted? I saw one story where he seemed to hinting that he was away, is that what Goodwin asked about?
Wouldn't be distraught if we moved him on, he's been a shadow of himself and has quite a strange attitude.

I didn't see it personally, but it was along the lines of 'One door must close for another to open', with a pic of him playing for us.

As someone who's also worked away from wife and child I have some sympathy.
He's a young man, that can be difficult. Hopefully they can move on from it.

Maybe, just me, but i didn't think what he wrote was that bad and could have been construed as any number of things.
I am very surprised Jim Goodwin has thrown him under the bus like this and made this public. Feels like it could have been dealt with privately. It doesn't seem like the type of thing Goodwin normally does. At all.
Surely he's not petty enough to have went public because Camara naively threw him under the bus with his comments after the Ayr Cup game.![]()
Pan hasn't been the same player since that game btw.

Maybe on the back of the Ferry golfing post about fuck all that caused a stir, players have been warned about their social media postings, Camara maybe wasn't listening.
