Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

Rose and big Bert supposedly doubts, but the extra day might give them a chance perhaps.

If not we have other options.

What would be your XI all being fit?

For the love of god, please don’t be hamstrings this early in the season.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

You'd have to say the 11 that started on Friday deserve to start again.
Rose for 70 then Metsoko.
I think if we show bravery and aggression the 3 points are there for us. This is not a Hearts team that appears ready and their manager definitely isn't.

I'd go for same, bring on Bennie earlier on the basis of p3ach of a ba that Randall fluffed

They will be on there knees come Sunday- chasing shadows all night on Thursday, have to go with pace and get after them from the first minute. Early goal and tynecastle will turn

This.

No negativity. Turn up and look to turn them over.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

This one has a kind of deja vu feeling to it. Playing Hearts again in the second league fixture but this time at Tynecastle and it's them who will have played 3 european games by the time we meet.

How nice would a last minute winner be after being behind against a shattered Hearts team just to complete the role reversal. That being said we would all be happy with a 1 nil win scored in the 1st minute.

A point at Tynecastle is always a decent result but this one's different for the reasons mentioned above. We can also put them under serious pressure from their support by taking the lead, especially if they suffer a heavy defeat tonight which is very possible. Their fans have grand delusions that last season was only the beginning for Scotlands '2nd best team' and some aren't too happy with the way this seasons started, hopefully we can add to their doubts.

Hearts 1-3 United

I can see them ending up in deep sh1t this year.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

It's funny because despite Hearts heavy defeat tonight away in Lisbon, i actually thought they looked really good going forward at times and could and should have added more than the one goal they scored.

A bit of a warning shot that we need to be very switched on and try and win the midfield battle first and foremost.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

Has the makings of a good game this one.  Not sure they are ready to dominate anyone (although still think they'll finish higher up the league than us), but neither are we.  I don't see us keeping a clean sheet and same for them.  Definitely a chance for us given their injuries and suspensions, but I'm thinking this has score draw all over it.

Agree with that Tek. The first half they weren't terrible but individual errors cost them. They were alot better in the second half but collapsed near the end.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

They played a lot better at 4-0 when Benfica stopped the slaughter.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

I was impressed with Renaud and Guendouz in particular but these players only started to show up well when Benfica sat back for a rest and said show us what you've got then. It was like a cat with a captive mouse.

In all honesty if the Benfica players had been on a €20k bonus for scoring 10 they probably would have collected.

In saying that, Hearts do have a decent squad and despite injuries desertions and suspensions they'll field a very capable 11. The key to it all will be in our desire to get after them in the first half hour. As someone else said, if we score early that stadium will turn quite quickly. High tempo heavy metal football 😁

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

Looking like Ferry still here, so I'd be going for the same team as last Friday. Front 3 to run themselves into the ground until the hour mark, then Bennie and Metsoko to come in and replace two of them and hopefully see out a victory.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

Hearts have lost 4 in 4. Two were against Sturm Graz, one was away to Benfica and the other was at up at Aberdeen. That’s a ridiculously tough set of fixtures. They’re a good side, they’ve also spent over £2 million this summer. This is gonna be a tough fixture, they’ll be desperate to stop the rot.

Same side as last Friday. Do not give them a moments peace & hopefully the natives will get restless.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

I think Hearts are decent enough but I really think they're going to be knackered after midweek, missing a few key players and we look to have added real pace this summer so are likely the best team to exploit this.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

Deary me, this is poor stuff. First goal a screamer but no one closing down, 2-0 a terrible penalty to give away and the 3rd the same as the first in the midfield going missing..

Passing around with little penetration, and any chances we have made we've either been terribly wasteful or unable to make correct decisions.

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

Young lad, seen absolutely nothing from rawlins- total weak link currently.

The sub at half time from Goodwin was a terrible decision- absolutely no idea what he was thinking

Re: Hearts vs United - Sunday 9th August (3PM)

4-0 is 4-0 you can't argue with the scoreline, but i've seen us play worse and win.

We really should've scored a couple today.

Can't give any team a two goal starty, then you're leaving yourself open as you chase the game.

Thought we played some no bad stuff in spells, got in behind them quite a few times, final ball or finish wasn't there. Maybe though that was partly because at 2-0 Hearts weren't really pushing it.

As bad as Hearts have been in Europe, they really got the shitty end of the stick in terms of their draws, but they've still got a good squad of players, most would be an upgrade on ours.

They were clinical, we were wasteful, the one Sapsford slashed wide, and over hitting a simple pass to Metsoko to tap in was poor.

Edit, it was the wrong move to sacrfice a midfileder for a forward at halftime, should've been like for like.
