Ferry off to America?

Not sure if your post is related to the Bennie signing but the lad is a winger and no way a defender so not a replacement for Will Ferry.
I'm certain Ferry will be away before the window closes though.

Reliable source on pie and bovril saying he’s offski to America. Bit of a bummer if we’ve received an offer on the eve of the season.

It's exactly what many of us have been expecting to be honest. Don't think there was ever any chance he was staying. Any games he would gave played for us before the move would have been a welcome bonus.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

It's easy to look for the negative angle, but too much was read into the Ferry golfing Instagram post and the stripping of the vice captaincy.

Simply the club have a price they'll deal at, Ferry knew this, the club knew this, there was previous American MLS interest and he wanted to go then, so we just topk steps to make sure the we weren't appointing what effectively will be our actual captain a few weeks into the season.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Knew it was coming but the night before the first game of the season v the huns is not great timing, can’t see him playing if we’ve accepted a bid.  Severely weakens the team.

Yip.

Bloody awful timing.

Guess it will be Naamo at LB.

No offence to the lad, but that is a huge blow to us if Ferry isn't at Left Back.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

I would like a source because it wasn't mentioned today by Alan Temple or in the pre match comments Q&A with Jim Goodwin.

Have you heard the rumour is true, Tek? Massive blow on the day of the game if so.

However, does remind me of the last time we beat them. Turned up to the match to find out Shankland was out and about to head to Belgium. We won 1-0 that day, same again today please. Funnily enough it was our LB that scored that day!

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

I'm resigned to Ferry going in this window.  Assuming that is the case, I want that to happen ASAP in order that we have some time to bring in a replacement.  In some ways I'll be relieved if he is not on the teamsheet tonight.

Until we have a replacement in you'd always prefer to have your best players possible on the park. One thing about Ferry leaving and the impact it might have... If we were continuing with the back 3 and wing-back system, he is almost irreplaceable. If we are playing a back 4 this season as pre-season would suggest, you could argue that he doesn't suit the position as much as the wing-back role and can get exposed at times for being too high up the park and/or weak in the air at the back post.

I hope the replacement we bring in for him is more of a 'defender' but with a good left foot to cross from deep. A Paul Dixon type, however those are not easy to come by. Ndinga rumours didn't fill me with confidence that we will go down that road as he was definitely noted as more of a wing back (and is also right footed?)

Anyway. Hopefully Ferry is on the team sheet tonight, plays a blinder, and leaves us on a high.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

We're still lacking experience across the pitch and this needs addressed.  It's all fine and well having young players who will have a sell on value if things go well, but if the chips are down we will need that cool, clam, experienced head to dig deep and lead the team.

Without that experience, I'm a bit concerned about this season.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Sooner it's sorted, sooner we can bank a wodge and move on.     Hasn't happened yet of course, but he's been a star.

Sadly, yes. I believe the rumour to be true.

I guess we'll find out soon.

Bidding war did you say?
Had to laugh at the prompt in there to the link where it said "Pressley believes Dundee can take more than 3 points from Celtic"

😁

I really hope Will doesn't get sucked into thinking Glasgow would be a good idea.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

If teams like Schalke and Anderlecht are in the mix then hopefully we can get 2M.

A new Left Back is needed in the door next week.
