Were you disappointed we took Fatah last season

Yoro being signed can only mean a midfielder is departing.

Which would likely mean either Camara or Eskesen, with good money on the latter.

Which is a bit of a shame because there's a player in there somewhere, but if this lad is better, then no complaints from me.

If we are going a midfield 3 this season, I think 6 players to cover us for the season is reasonable. Hopefully no one leaves, unless it's silly money.

 
Agreed. We should be aiming for a squad of 22 with 2 players for every position. I wouldn't be letting Eskesen go.

No complaints if he’s as good as Fatah, obviously. I would like to see us sign some real experience though, if the Goodwins don’t think so, I see us making the same mistakes as last season.

Signing experienced players doesn't fit our player trading model. The only time Goodwin signed experience was to get us out the Championship. 

I do agree we do need experience but won't be happening under the current recruitment strategy.

Would’ve preferred an experienced right back come in. Naamo has looked okay out there but there’s definitely better than him.

 
We signed Rawlins this summer. Not an experienced RB, but him and Naamo with Sevelj able to slot in there means it's unlikely that will be an area we look to improve in that sense.

Dundee United have been granted a GBE to sign Abdoulaye Yoro.

The loan deal for the Basaksehir midfielder is now subject to a work visa being issued.

The GBE was cleared at a hearing earlier today (Tuesday).

United are now going through that process just now and hope to have that they get paperwork in place for the end of this week.

The Ivory Coast midfielder is currently in Turkey waiting for the green light to travel to Scotland.

He will move to Tannadice on a one-year deal with a January recall option.

The 21-year-old is unlikely to be done to get him into the squad for Friday’s Premiership opener with Rangers.

It is more likely his first United outing will by their Premiership clash with Hearts

I'll play devil's advocate here Tek. There's been a few times when Eskesen came on last season and tried to have an impact but I can think of only once when he did, away at Falkirk IIRC. He's a player i like to watch, he's technically good and always wants to play the ball forward if he can.
So here's the but. ..he's stood out in the League Cup against lower league sides.
Against Salford,  a step up, he wasn't nearly as effective and faded badly. I feel he's not suited to the high energy physical Scottish Premiership. I think we need better.
But I hope he goes on to have a great career.

Agree with all of that tbh Reddy.

I like Eskesen, but i think if we are getting money back for him and we can get this kid in for a season, then it's a gamble, but possibly one worth taking.


 

 
The most important thing we can do is slow down the player churn so that the manager has a better chance of getting a settled side.
To be fair though it does make preseason more interesting than the old days.
