Re: Coronavirus

My Father In Law got a Covid jab the other day, so they're still offering protection, he was shielding as he was diagnosed and fought cancer through the pandemic, so if it gives him peace of mind fair doos.

I don't know anyone else that has bothered with it since things re-opened.

Reckon I maybe had it the run up to Xmas 2024, was floored for about 5 days then wasn't right for about 3 weeks in total.

"Don't F*cking ever offer me that again!"

Is Covid over?

You hear nothing about it now,

Weird how no government official (from anywhere) has ever came out and declared the pandemic as over.

Don't think any government is going to say Covid, or any virus is over when it still exists... they moved from it being declared a pandemic and having restrictions in an attempt to prevent it spreading at a rate that would be impossible to deal with, to a state of "living with it", just like the Influenza I guess....   On a personal note. I first had it in October 2023, floored my for a week;  my mum got it in January 2024 and passed away in April of that year.

That's not what i suggested though SA.

I just find it odd that there was never any acknowledgement that we were finally out of the pandemic stage of the disease.

Unless, it's because there is caution in scientific fields that a 3rd wave could be possible, but it would be hard to differentiate it now from the common flu because no-one tests for it anymore.

P.s. sorry to read of the loss of your Mum. The pain never goes away, sadly.

Aye, I suppose that is correct but perhaps most government were too scared to say "its over".  Not sure if any other places around the world actually did that though.

Re: Coronavirus

Aye Tek. They're still pretty strict onboard Cruise Ships about it.

Your Travel Insurance has to include Covid Cover, and they check that. If it hasn't got COVID cover, you don't get to board.

They also do a Health Check before you get onboard. ie. ensuring you don't have a cough or a runny nose etc. If you do, they do a Covid Test which you have to pay for ( £50 ). If the test is Positive, you don't get to board.

They also do a sample of Covid tests randomly on a selection of Passengers before boarding. (No charge for that). Again, if you test Positive, you don't get to board.

If you're unlucky enough to catch the COVID while onboard, you, and all your Party, are confined to your Cabins for the remainder of the Cruise. On some Cruise Lines they lock you in your Cabin

That's kind of an overview. Its not exactly the same with each Cruise line, it does differ slightly between one company and another, and I've only sailed with a few of the lines. And it does change from 1 year to the next, so what happened in 2025 for instance won't be exactly what happens this year.

Hope that's ok interest to you.
