Dare i even ask what the weather is like in Dundee this evening, just three days away from our next fixture?

It wasn't too bad today. Stayed mostly dry. But it's meant to be raining the rest of the week.

Will the rain ever go away lol
Cannot see this game going ahead

Quite dry today but apparently the groundsmen were racing quadbikes around the park.

Actually it was quite nice today compared to recent with not much rain until 8pm but with the rain meant before the game and the state of the pitch, the game will be off.

Looking at the weather forecast for Dundee it’s almost non stop rain both Tuesday and Wednesday, and all day Thursday too.

The rain looks torrential all day Tuesday and all day Wednesday. Game has no chance

Metoffice have now issued a yellow weather warning for rain for tomorrow.

Weather warning in place for Wednesday as well. United putting out buy tickets tweets about 10 minutes ago.
Bought tickets for this the night before the Spartans game when the club must've known the Spartans game had no chance, I wouldn't even have considered it if I'd seen the nick of the pitch.
Bet there's something daft in the t&c's about no refunds or something.

You'll definitely get a refund if you can't make the rescheduled game.

Maybe it's scheduled tweets, but does anyone think the game has any real chance of going ahead or do the club hae to do stuff like this to avoid further scrutiny?

If they hadn't cut the grass too short it would pass an inspection

Forecast to rain for 39 hours straight starting tomorrow at 9am seemingly according to the Courier/Met Office.
Should put paid to Wednesday night.

Can't see us dealing particularly well with fixtures stacking up.

I was thinking that myself.
Would love us to bribe the referee and just play on the waterlogged surface 😁
These players need games.

Remember that photo of Luggy in a European tie chasing down a ball in about 2 inches of snow, blowing a blizzard?
The days when groundsmen were good and the weather was actually bad 😎

I remember a period under Houstie, played about 6 games in 18 days or something daft like that, came through that pretty well, as all they did was play, rest, play.
I'm holding on to that hope.

That was the season after we won the cup in 2010. Our last league victory at Ibrox was in that spell.

Pitches were awful in the 70s& 80s I'm not sure if that was halycon days of the groundsman. The difference is they just played. Moulded studs or sometimes pimpled trainers or even sambas and of course the orange mitre.
The fans used to love the sliding tackle on the waterlogged pitch that would go on for about 30yds.
The phrase could endanger player safety is almost as bad as he felt a touch he's entitled to go down.
Just get the ball out and get on with game.

100% this. You only got sent off if your opponent left the field on a stretcher 😁
There's less gristle in the pies now too. Progress of sorts I suppose.

Not quite what i said. I said a another groundsman (not my own words) had said the pitch would have withstood the rain (better) and not turned into quite as much of a mud bath in certain areas had the grass not been cut so short. Not that it wouldn't have got flooded anyway or a game would have been in anyway playable due to the incessant rain.
As always though, it's amusing how much you hang on to my words on here.

Surely you have to admit though Tek we have reached ground zero where any possible negative that could be aimed at the club is getting aired on here?
Even other Forums have mentioned it.
I won't defend the club when I feel it's wrong to do so but it feels like some can't wait to air grievance. (You know who you are by the way)
If the manager had the team in the Top 6 and winning derbies I very much doubt most of the criticism of the Club would getting aired.

About half an hour ago I seen a picture on Twitter, seemingly of the pitch this afternoon.
And I cant seem to find it again.
Ground will be very soft, moulded wellies rather than studded will be the choice of footwear.
