Watched this last night.
The biographical film of Johnny Davidson.
A very inspirational and emotional film with an absolutely brilliant performance from the main actor who plays Johnny.

Watched it a few weeks ago. Brilliant, funny and heartbreaking in equal measure. Maxine Peake's abysmal Scottish accent probably the only low point.

It was pretty bad, like.
She was otherwise good too (as usual).

It was superb, a lot of us grew up with Johnny Davidson and me and my mates quote some of his lines almost daily, but at the same time we can understand ad sympathise how horrible a condition it has been and the impact on him and those around him,
A truly inspirational guy.
Glad I drink coffee though.

The BAFTAS aftermath has shown how incredibly ignorant some people still are regarding Tourette's.
Words fail me.

What really shocked me wasn't how a lot of people were ignorant of Tourettes, it was the other side of American Twitter who were so openly and brazenly racist.
I guess that filters down from the top though.

Just ignorance in general TEK. I remember when it was first aired in 1989(?) and I woulda been around 14 and we did laugh about it till someone pointed out, “Imagine if it was you.” Finding a job, getting married, having kids etc etc. Then you realize what an absolute nightmare it must be for him (and others)
Fast forward to now and when the movie come out I saw people now in their late 40s -50s on various social media recalling it as the funniest thing they’ve ever seen (the 80s documentary) without a single ounce of empathy or understanding even though they’re now adults and not clueless teenagers.
As for calling him racist and asking why a Scottish guy would know that word, well that’s just beyond stupidity.
I would bet if it was two Asian people up there he woulda perhaps shouted something else or if it were two overweight people (you get the drift) or maybe he woulda shouted nothing as it’s completely random and involuntary.
Hopefully Jamie Foxx who called him out can watch the film and maybe grasp what the poor guy goes through.
