What is up with Fatah? Not starting tonight

IF you actually know the team you shouldn't be leaking it online to look like Billy big baws. Scum behaviour.

IF you don't know the team, it just makes you look like a complete fanny.

You choose.

Shut your mouth you absolute fool.

I do know the starting XI but haven't posted.

Asking a genuine question about Fatah.

Also said Stirton and SCH were starting as multiple people did too at the start of the thread.

He was always going 352 tonight.

He'll be on the bench no doubt.

Keeping him for the derby probably. While i don’t necessarily agree with that if he does, Jim knows winning the derby keeps you safe for a while longer.

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

Sky had the teams about an hour ago. I just caught the last of the banner line which said Camara along with two others were out.

Btw why are Hearts not paying Falkirk tonite, it;s been baffling me all day.

I think they were meant to be playing Celtic and St Mirren who were in the league cup final that weekend.

A really good first half of football from us.
Night and day from what we've been put through recently.

Agreed and we've had a decent start to the 2nd half aswell. We've created plenty of good chances and limited livi to very little. Just need to finish the game off in the last 20 and it will be a solid performance.

The fringe players showing themself up well tonight and nammo looking like he could go on to be a very important player for us.

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

Disappointed not to see the game out with a clean sheet but we were unlucky with the deflection, at least it wasn't an individual error. From dave up to owen everyone can be happy with their performance, subbies aswell.

Great result, well don Jim. Sibbald was immense tonight.

Brilliant 3 points.

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

3-1 probably should been 6, some of our decision making in that final third was disappointing.  But that's being picky about a much improved team performance and 3 (three) goals.

So much to admire about the overall performance and some excellent individual performances too.

Hopefully Naamo is OK, could do with him for Saturday.

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

Very good performance tonight. Thought the back 3 moped up anything thrown at them. Sibbald was excellent in the midfield. Naamo was solid & Ferry’s playing like a man who’s happy to see January. Thought Trappa played well in place of Fatah and Stirton is a better option than Watters anyway.

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

SCH brilliant.

That was unbelievably dominant, livi couldn’t have had any complaints if that was 5 or 6

Bring on the derby now. Seems we are going clicking at the right time

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

Best 90 minutes of the season. Unbelievably dominant and the only two main negatives on the night are not scoring more goals and annoyingly conceding that one in injury time to deny the team a (well deserved) clean sheet.

Few 'monkey's off the back' tonight too.

First win outside of Dundee in the league in 25/26.
First win at Livi in 21 years.
First win on 'plastic' for a good while also.

That we done that whilst resting key men and blooding a couple of our own young talents, well, a good night all round.

My Player ratings -

Richards 7 - One excellent instinctive save with the game at 1-0 which was vital. The game could easily have swung in momentum if they'd equalised, particularly as they had made a ton of subs around that time.

SCH 7 - Very mature and impressive showing. Unlucky that he slipped just before their goal at the end. Showed he can easily slot in for us when called upon.

Esselink 7 - Solid stuff from Bert tonight. Won a few headers.

Keresztes 7 - Found wanting a couple of times defensively, but also looked unbelievable anytime he came forward towards the centre circle. Passing superb. I keep banging on about this but i feel he's wasted at Centre Half. He'd make an excellent CDM imo.

Naamo 7 - Very impressive contribution all-round tonight. Got forward to great effect and unlucky not to score one or two. Disappointing he went off injured again and hopefully it's nothing too serious as he looks an upgrade on Ryan Strain.

Ferry 7 - Good energy and willingness to get forward all night. Been back to his best in December.

Sibbald 8 - Immense. So, so unlucky not to score with his powerful left foot drive that smashed off the post.

Stephenson 7 - Great all energy display from Luca, as per. Got forward to good effect when he could. Defensively sound too.

Trapanovski 7 - Worked hard for the team tonight on the ball and off the ball.

Stirton 7 - Decent contribution considering it was his first game in months. Decent hold up and physicality shown. Unlucky not to score with his header from the corner 1st half. Done a good disciplined marking job on Sylla too. A mature performance. Once or twice his movement off the ball could have been a bit better when we were on the attack, but that is me nit-picking, and i'm sure that will come in time with more games/fitness/and understanding of his team mates and their runs etc etc.

Sapsford 8 - Tireless performance as usual and also contributed yet another goal. Been a great first half of the season from our little Aussie forward. Here's to (hopefully) more of the same in the second half of the season (please God, no bids for him. Let us enjoy him a bit longer).

Subs -

Watters 5 - Offered nothing yet again.

Dolcek 5 - Anonymous.

Eskesen 5 - Sorry, not wishing to pick on this guy, i really am not, but he is just miles off it. I watched him very closely tonight when he came on and he hid. He doesn't want the ball and doesn't want to dictate play in anyway shape or form, which for a Number 10 is criminal. The Danish, Jordan Tillson (Tillson actually offered more). Get rid asap. A strange, strange signing.

Fatah 8 - What a joy it is to watch this boy play for Dundee United. Three outstanding finishes in the month of December against Rangers, Aberdeen and Livi. He reminds me so much of Jerren Nixon. From the running style, to the cutting in from the left and the curled shots, to the black wooly gloves. Enjoy him whilst we have him. He's going on to bigger and better things.

Fantastic performance tonight, Goodwin with a few choices to make on Saturday and I don't envy him.

Have to agree on this though, although we scored another 2 when he was on the park I thought there was a very noticeable drop off in control of the midfield when really he should've been able to come on and knock the ball about a bit with being fresh. I get centremid is different from playing in the 10 but as Tek has picked up on, he doesn't really seem to ever be open when he's brought on.

Such a strange signing as we have never played a formation with a 10 under Goodwin in the Premiership. Can't see us ever doing so when we have CB and Winger heavy squad that means we're most likely to play 343 or 433...

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

Also, we took the lead. Never chucked it, but extended it.

Livingston are however, dreadful. 12th place sewn up.

Not getting the clean sheet is disappointing, but we’d all have taken 3-1 if offered

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

I see Jim Goodwin said in his Post-Match interview that Vicko Sevelj pulled up during the warm up.

That's so disappointing. We can only hope it's not too bad because he's been magnificent of late.

We can never seem to get a through a match without at least one or two new injuries.

He was still listed as a subbie so was he meant to be in the starting XI?
If so who got his place?

Side note - Jim pronounces Sevelg as SEV-ELG, phonetically.
That pleases me cos when I come away with SEV-ELG I get a disparaging look and what sounds like no more than a one-syllable grunt as to the correct pronounciation of his name.

SEV-ELG good for Saturday hopefully and Camara too, get the feeling he was being kept for the Derby. Starting XI could be strong.

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

A real pleasant surprise last night. What a difference when we play on the front foot. More of the same in the derby please.

Too much commotion

Re: Livingston vs United - Tuesday 30th December (7.45PM)

Excellent performance, SCH and Stirton excellent.  Stirton did more in the first 10/15 minutes than Moeller has offered in all his appearances so far.  Ferry looking back to his best.  Annoying we couldn’t keep a clean sheet though.

Sibbald excellent again too, wouldn’t absolutely be offering him a new deal.

The Fun putting a bit of form together now too so Saturday will be a very interesting game indeed.
