I'd like Dillon to stay as a squad player, a great subby who can play every position in defence and holding midfield.
I do agree that the defence is shocking though, it's what's held us back for nearly three seasons.
Would like a new back four and a new keeper but right back is paramount, followed by keeper then a centre half. He'd be the highest paid squad player.
We could get someone cheaper and possibly better. I'd bet you could get 2 ICT Defenders for what Dillon is on.
We need better for a starter, I dont think he's let us down when called upon this season, and we don't have to offer him his current terms.

I have a feeling Watson will end up at Hearts next season.
St Mirren did what St Johnstone normally do to us; play high up against Paton and Rankin and our centre halfs, and flood the middle of the park.
We desperately needed to stretch the game and yet persisted with GMS on the right hand side coming into traffic on his left foot everytime. Why wont he play him on the left????????? I'd love to see us with two up top, Telfer (or Armstrong) and Butcher in the middle, GMS wide left and Connolly or even Dow wide right.

Well I was'nt at the match coz I've no been too well, so like a lot of other folk, watched it on BT.
Thought the game was woeful to watch. Part of it was due to a St.Mirren who won at the weekend and tried their hardest to get themselves on a mini roll, esp. in the 1st half. In contrast the 10 day mini break hasn't done us much good.
Passing was weak and imprecise at times, and the 50-50s went mainly in their favour.
Strange goal for them. Thru 2 of ours at the back from a flick.
Great control and turn by Stretch for our goal.
Shifty hardly seemed to be in the game. Don't know who saw less of the ball, him or Anier. Though his 1st half run toward the corner-flag, then along the by-line was great. And a pity he hadn't netted the last minute header.
By 60 mins, I was sitting thinking how we'd put 5 past Dundee by that point.
Performance improved greatly when Telfer and Henri came on, but Telfer has to take most of the credit for that.
A sore 2 point drop.

Trying to take some positives fae last night.
1.We gained a point we never deserved.
2.Continues our record of only 1 Paisley defeat in 15 years
3.We will hopefully never see Watson at Centre Half again.
4....eh i'm struggling now......

6....another learning curve for our young manager and his very young squad who are all still in with a shout for some serious honours

I have just watched the match again it was not any better second time. For me it's quite clear that the main problem is Paton and rankin. Neither of them want to the ball, the number of times they turned their backs when the defence had the ball was piss poor. The chances of any of the defenders finding one of the front four with a pass are minimal , hence long punt after long punt. Jackie said we need players to be brave on the ball, surely he can see what the fans can.

Need to work harder at exploiting the weak links, St.Mirren are poor but Goodwin and their keeper looked dodgy but we managed to make Goodwin look good. If some of our players were not so shit scared of him we would have ripped him to shreds.
