What does everyone think?
8 points clear after 9 games.
Any other league in the world they would be favourites now.
Being Scotland, it feels inevitable that celtic will reel them in at some point.
It also feels inevitable that both of the ugly sisters will try and raid their best players in January, however hearts have strong financial backing and a big squad, and might be able to manage this relatively ok.

Can they? Absolutely. 8 points clear, though essentially 9 points clear given their superior goal difference.
Will they? I would still say, no.
I think Celtic will go on a huge transfer splurge in January and sign the requisite quality that should see them go on a long unbeaten run. They still have to play Hearts three times yet of course, so could close that gap just by winning those games.
If Hearts can go say 12 points ahead at Xmas though it could get very, very interesting.
Though i'm no lover of the Jam Tarts, it would be great to see someone finally break the Duopoly of the big Glasgow Two which we've all had to suffer for 40 years now.

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed they do. I would prefer anyone outside of the old firm and Dundee to win it. Look at the Swedish league, just shows it is possible—albeit a once in a blue moon situation. Hard to believe Hearts were bottom of the league with 2 points at this stage last season.
Look at the Sheep though. 11 wins and a draw (at park head) and we ended up above them last season.
With Tony Bloom though I think hearts are more the real deal. Would anyone be surprised to see Celtic move for Braga or the like in January though?

Probably the most important factor is having a manager who can instil a winning mentality. There is a huge difference between going to Ibrox and Celtic Park to get a result and going there with the expectation of winning.
I remember when Fergie took his Aberdeen team to Celtic Park in the early 80’s . They got a draw and celebrated. Fergie went ballistic.
If I were McInnes, I would use the condescending attitude of the West of Scotland media as a motivation. I would use some of Brendan Rodgers comments as motivation. I would keep the players together, as long as possible during non training hours. Bring someone in who is top notch on NLP.
To answer the question: Yes they can, but, only if they really believe they can.
