Utd sing from the 70’s
Talking with my brother and mate and always thought the name of the bar in the song was the “Central Bar” in the song “Away the lads” but they didn’t think so.
“ To run from the Central Bar to see Dundee United”
Anybody shed some light on this !

It was the Centre Bar. It was a popular drinking pub for Utd fans. It was underneath what is now the Malmaison hotel. Was in after we won cup for first time in 1979, quite a night. Had a young crowd. Seem to remember played a lot of rock music.

Me and my pals were just getting to drinking age in the late 70s. We went to Centre Bar because it was already in song and obviously wanted to drink in a Utd bar. To be fair it was a very popular bar at the weekends
