Not angry with that, the squad makeup has simply caught up with us. Holt, Stephenson and Graham out, Gallagher not the only one playing through injuries, a midfield without Sevelj. Rough.
Team is a banger running on fumes. That's pretty much where I am, but you have to blame the management and the really poor winter window - Holt shouldn't have been allowed to go and we should have pushed for Stephenson to play until the end of the season. When you look at the athletes that Saints had up front and we can bring on Paton who is so far off it it is embarrassing for the lad. How big a flop must Fiorini be if he can't get game time ahead of the patched together midfield?
Ultimately the boys in the park have been let down by recruitment and injuries. I feel a bit sorry for them to be honest.
Liverpool were never going to let Luca not be ready for pre-season. Easy in hindsight to say about Holt as we had a ready made replacement in Ross Graham to come in but he's been plagued with a harmstring injury since February. Summer window will be interesting as there is talk Goodwin is going to be playing a high line in the new season. Last time we had a manager that tried that he didn't see August out.

Yeah, I know re Luca - and can't blame the lad - he put in some shift given he was injured. I do think the Holt thing was a risk. It was known Graham was not 100% and that there was no real back-up though so we got that wrong. We should have been able to come up with some sort of deal to keep Holt happy.
A high-line would be fine if we have the players who can play it. Not one of our current CHs has that in their locker.

There's been talk of Stephenson playing through the pain barrier since Xmas, and needed an op, the time for Liverpool to cut the deal short was in January when we could've replaced him (Albeit that window was pish for us)
We would've been contributing pennies if anything to his wage, it's not like they'd have been skint if they sorted him out then.

He done it against Ross County in November.

Paton runs around like he's got arthritis.
Moult has lost any pace he ever had.
What a easy ride for the SM CBs to see them two coming on.
Fotheringham is even worse he should be thinking if I can't get on before them two maybe it's time for a change of career.
JVS will never score.
Trapanovski needs to go away and put on 5kg of muscle if he wants to play in Scotland.
Middleton is at best bone idle.
When Dalby has a poor game we are completely impotent.
