Bairns Comps

My wee lad is in the Young Arabs (the thing you pay an extra £15 on your season ticket for) but he doesn't have a season ticket himself. He went to the coaching session a couple of weeks ago which was very good. Afterwards he got sent comps for 3 games including Saturday for Motherwell. Anyway, I went to exchange these vouchers for tickets at the club shop tonight only to be told they had to be used in the Jerry Kerr. My ST is in the ET lower but was told I couldnt get a ticket for there. I told her that my row is mostly empty but she insisted no. Anyway I then said ok can I go in the JK with him? Response: yes but you cant get in with your season ticket!!!! Honest to fuck. She then asked if I can come back later in the week after she's raised the issue at a management meeting tomorrow.

When did we become Man Utd when seats are like gold dust? The wifie said that hundreds of these vouchers had been given out but it was useless for season ticket holders with bairns. Between this and the farcical situation in the GF when punters have to queue for tickets even though there are hundreds of empty bairns st seats and Utd for Kids st seats not being used, its a fucking joke. I'll probably just pay him in beside me. Waste of time.

Re: Bairns Comps

What a piece of nonsense.

Fair enough allocating the tickets for the Jerry Kerr but they surely must know that parents will want to move their season ticket to sit beside their kid/s.?

Re: Bairns Comps

My wee lad has just turned 7. You can understand if we were close to selling out the home ends but we are nothing of the sort. I don't mind paying him into a game but know exactly what will happen on Saturday: he'll get bored and be freezing by ht and I'll need to take him home so it'll be a waste of money but he's got his heart set on going.

I've taken him to see Tayport Juniors and also taken him up to Station Park but he's able to run about there and up at Forfar his pals go. Different at Tannadice.

Re: Bairns Comps

What do you expect? Common sense?

Seriously, don't like slagging United but at times there's is a severe lack of common sense.  Not really the girls in the shops fault, just doing what they're told, but surely someone could have made a quick call and get the ok to sort this out for you.

Re: Bairns Comps

That's a pity LAO and imo something United need to address going forward as it may seem like a landmark achievement at the time stating record crowds attending certain games and record numbers of season tickets sold  etc  but it kind of strikes me of a slight of conscience putting statistics before what appears to a loyal fans  convenience

Re: Bairns Comps

I thought one of the reasons we've opened the Jerry Kerr for cat b games was that season ticket holders in any stand can use their voucher to enter the JK to sit with friends who are not season book holders?

Am I wrong on that?

I thought you'd be able to use your ET voucher to get in there with him using the free ticket with non allocated seating?

They changed it, STs only in stand where they're for, JK cash only now.

Yeah, probably the reason why the numbers in Jerry Kerr have declined in run of the mill games this season.

Re: Bairns Comps

Re: Bairns Comps

Going up after work today to see if there has been any resolution.  The thing is Saturday will probably be our lowest crowd of the season due to the weather at the moment so there is no real demand for seats even in the ET let alone the JK.  Email to the club may be following tonight.

Re: Bairns Comps

Well, went up to the shop today and am pleased to say that common sense has prevailed and I have tickets beside me in the ET. Utd have decided you can get bairns comps beside your season ticket provided there are free seats beside your season ticket seat. Good stuff from Utd!
